iNG Restaurant, Goose Island Pair Up for Ultimate Beer Dinner Collaboration
Posted Thursday, January 16th, 2014 by Tip Top
Goose IslandExclusive Evening Set to Take Place January 16 at iNG Restaurant
CHICAGO, 9 January 2013- The first iNG Restaurant/Goose Island beer dinner collaboration will take place at iNG Restaurant on Thursday, January 16. Guests will enjoy a Salvador Dali-themed six-course tasting menu prepared by iNG Executive Chef Tim Havidic, paired with beers selected by Goose Island Brewmaster Brett Porter.

“iNG has always had an intense love affair with beer and the beer culture. All of the menus have included beer pairings with our tasting menu,” said Trevor Rose-Hamblin, iNG General Manager and Mixologist. “With Executive Chef Tim Havidic's much-lauded Salvador Dali-inspired menu, we thought this would be a perfect time to toss a line right down Fulton Market to our good friends at Goose Island. Their passion for excellence, innovation, and creativity in beer are the ultimate pairing with our own passion in cuisine.  We are excited to be partnering with such an influential Chicago beer icon in order to pay homage to food, to art and, of course, beer.”

“Both Goose Island and iNG have been at the forefront of innovation in their respective crafts, and the idea of combining two cutting edge institutions into one evening was an one that couldn’t be missed” Brett Porter, Brewmaster for Goose Island Beer Company. “With both companies living in the heart of the Chicago culinary scene, Fulton Street, this natural partnership is one that has endless possibilities.”

The six-course tasting menu with Goose Island beer pairings features:

  • "Once my appetite was whetted I became ravenously hungry" (Halia)
  • Honey Is Sweeter Than Blood (Lolita)
  • Still life moving fast (Juliet)
  • Soft Construction With Boiled Beans: (A Premonition of Civil War) (Madame Rose)
  • Atavism at Twilight (Pepe Nero)
  • Architechtonic Angelus (Backyard Rye, Bourbon County Brand Stout)

About iNG Restaurant

Located in Chicago's trendy Fulton Market District, iNG restaurant works with the elusive Miracle Berry. The organic, all-natural berry contains a special protein that temporarily binds taste receptors. This process alters one's ability to perceive sour, spicy, salty and bitter flavors shortly after consumption, significantly reducing the need for refined sugar, plus all processed and artificial sugars. The menu at iNG changes each season, with Executive  Chef Tim Havidic and his team delivering “flavor-tripping” twists on everything from surreal dishes with his latest Salvador Dali-themed tasting menu to flavor-punched cocktails best served alongside a Miracle Berry. iNG Restaurant is located at 951 W. Fulton Market. For more information, visit Follow iNG on Facebook and Twitter @ingrestaurant.
