Juneau, Alaska (February, 2013) – Alaskan Brewing is pleased to announce they will return to Juneau’s Eaglecrest Ski Area on Sunday, March 10 for the third annual High Gravity Games. The fundraising event features several outdoor competitions, music, food and an Alaskan beer garden hosted by Marlintini’s Lounge.

Alaskan and Eaglecrest first organized the event in 2011 to help celebrate Alaskan’s 25th Anniversary by raising funds for a Brewery-sponsored nonprofit organization. The overwhelming success encouraged event organizers to make the High Gravity Games an annual event. The 2013 nonprofit beneficiary is SAIL, Inc.
“The High Gravity Games is an extremely fun event designed for people of all skill levels, and this year we’re adding new elements to several of the competitions, as well as a new award category for best costumes.” says Eaglecrest Event coordinate Jake Quarstad. “We’ve had some incredibly creative costumes and enthusiastic teams in the past and are looking forward to seeing participation grow this year.”

The Games’ signature event is the Start-Up Cup - a four-leg, five-person relay, where participants ski, snowboard, snowshoe and sled (a la human Iditarod racers) their way to the finish. Other events include the keg collar toss and downhill crash test dummy competition. All proceeds from the event benefit Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL).

Registration details and event information is posted at and available at the Alaskan Brewery in Lemon Creek or at the Depot downtown.
