Press Release: Kelowna’s Tree Brewing Packs Three Hops into One Craft Pack
Posted Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 by Tip Top

Tree Hop PackOctober 22, 2012 (Kelowna, BC) – What do you get when you combine three of Tree Brewing’s most popular and, “hoppiest” brews into one case? The answer is the latest offering from Kelowna’s award-winning brewery - The Hop Pack. Sure to have “Hop Heads” clamouring to their local store to pick up this limited release, Tree is now offering up a 12-pack including the original HopHead IPA, HopHead Double IPA and the newest member of the family, HopHead Black IPA.

“HopHead has become our signature beer with our consumers,” says Tree Brewing President, Tod Melnyk. “With the introduction of HopHead Double IPA and more recently HopHead Black IPA, the response has been incredible, so we decided to bring the family together for HopHead lovers to enjoy this fall.”

Brewed year round since 1999, HopHead India Pale Ale is Tree’s Signature beer and was the first ‘serious’ IPA to be crafted for wide consumption by a Canadian brewery. Considered risky business for a small Canadian craft brewer at the time, it is now considered to have been ahead of its time by leading the charge into brewing full flavoured IPA’s.

While HopHead has garnered numerous awards and accolades since its release, over the last few years, Brewmaster Stefan Buhl and his team got a little bit crazy, and in 2008 HopHead Double India Pale Ale was introduced. Packing in the hops and IBU’s like no other, it instantly appealed to IPA fans and critics everywhere earning a gold medal at The Canadian Brewing Awards upon release. This award-winning brew is now one of Tree’s most eagerly anticipated releases of the year.

And the brewer’s latest inspiration? HopHead Black India Pale Ale. This truly unique brew has all the trademarks of HopHead, while offering a distinct colour and taste profile that stands out from the crowd of IPA’s.
The three members of the HopHead family have all been released in 650ml bottles and have continuously sold out quickly. The Hop Pack will be available at private retailers in BC and Alberta in limited quantities, so IPA lovers are encouraged to get theirs before they’re gone for the season.
