Freetail Update: Beer News, Next Bottle Release
Posted Friday, July 15th, 2011 by Tip Top

Freetail Logo(San Antonio, TX) - Freetail had a lot of beer news in their newsletter yesterday.  Here's the rundown...

"What’s Up In the Brewhouse

Jason and John have been staying busy, brewing beer on a pace to exceed 1,000 barrels this year. Some fun things that have either recently hit the taps, are hitting the taps soon, or are fermenting out:

·         Double Red Rooster – on tap now, this imperial red was brewed as the base beer that now occupies three 53-gallon former port barrels from Dry Comal Creek winery. The exact release will be determined through on-going taste tests, but we hope to allow this one to age for a year or more before extracting, our first foray into long-term barrel aging.

·         Bat Outta Helles – every year when this lager hits the taps, it sells faster than any beer we’ve ever brewed. A refreshing favorite as local temperatures routinely exceed 4 million degrees. Should be on tap towards the end of the month (keep an eye out on Facebook or Twitter for an exact release date)

·         Soul Doubt IPA – an American Pirate India Pale Ale crafted by John Lee while Jason snuck off on vacay. On tap tomorrow, July 14.

·         Witicus – the annual batch of our double Rye Wit was brewed on Monday and should be ready in early August. We’ll also be transferring some to our barrel aged wild program.

September Bottle Release

Speaking of Witicus, it will bottled up along with For2una Roja for release on Saturday, September 24.

New Bottle Release Policy: Going forward, all bottle releases will be subject to the following policy. When you arrive, you will be given a coupon with a number on it. We will have enough coupons for the number of bottles we have available, assuming everyone buys their full allotment. Those without coupons can line up behind those with coupons to buy any bottles that were not purchased through the allotment program. We will not allow the “scalping” or coupons (not cool) or resale of bottles (illegal) on our premise.

Stay tuned to Facebook or Twitter for details on exact bottle counts for Witicus and For2una Roja. This will be the last bottle release before Dia de La Muerta 2011 (November 5, 2011)."
