Press Release: Empyrean Brewing Co. Expansion Details
Posted Wednesday, September 15th, 2010 by Tip Top

Empyrean Brewing(Lincoln, NE) – This week, Empyrean Brewing Co. completes the installment of two additional tanks to its brewery operation located in the Historic Haymarket District in Lincoln, Nebraska, at 729 Q Street.

“It’s an addition we’ve needed for some time,” says Production Manager Jim Engelbart, “due to an increase in both local sales, as well as recent expansions in distribution beyond Nebraska’s borders.”

“We’ve received extremely positive responses in our new territories in South Dakota and Iowa. In fact, the demand for our brands is much higher than originally anticipated.”

This demand is the reason for the addition of the two 930-gallon fermentation tanks, an addition that will increase current brewing capacity by 20 percent.

Empyrean Brewing Co.’s brands are available across the states of Nebraska and South Dakota, as well as in 16 counties in central Iowa. The additional capacity will allow Empyrean to continue growing in existing markets and to sign additional distributors in the Midwest.

“It’s our attention to quality ingredients and our focus on flavor and freshness that make our brands so desirable.” explains Head Brewer Rich Chapin, who has been with the company since its start in 1990. “Empyrean ales are flavorful and designed to complement Midwestern tastes.”

Packaging more than 5,400 barrels of beer last year, Empyrean Brewing Co. offers eight to ten varieties at any one time. Six of these are bottled on site and distributed in six and 12-pack cases year round, while seasonal selections are available on draught in limited quantities locally.
