(Boulder, CO) - For a while now Avery Brewing Company has been sending out updates that Barrel-Aged Series No 4 would be Cerasus. Now you see Depuceleuse is No 4. Confused? Well don't be. These are the same beer. There is a Kerasus Ale that comes out of Belgium, so the brewery didn't want to have any naming issue with the beer. Thus, it's the same beer that was known as Cerasus previously. The brewery ended up liking the new name better anyways.
Depuceleuse is a Barrel-Aged Wild Ale that weighs in at 9.73% abv. It is brewed with sour cherries and aged in zinfandel barrels. Being a 100% brettanomyces fermented beer, there should be all sorts of funky aspects to it.
Contrary to the bottled date on the label shown, this beer is scheduled to be packaged March 31st. There should be about 450 cases coming out sometime in April. Release date is still to be announced. Distribution is not yet known, but with the small batch, expect this one to be very limited.
