No, it was hanging around from the previous release.  Overpriced, but it's still FBS...

Beer. It always seems like such a good idea at the time. What's worse is beer seems like an even better idea after you've had some beer.

If forced, I'd choose malt liquor over a pilsner.

None of those are nearby.  :kickrock: Might have to go on a  :drive: to get some. I asked the guy at one of the beer stores today. He said he'd like to get some himself.

What did I get today....a weird lot:

Aktien-Brauerei Kaufbeuren Maibock (I also picked up their weizenbock the other day)
Aecht Schlenkerla Helles Lagerbier (been wanting that one)
Baltika #4 (not sure I've ever had a Russian beer)
Thames Welsh ESB
Konig Pilsener
070707

Beer. It always seems like such a good idea at the time. What's worse is beer seems like an even better idea after you've had some beer.

Yeah, they don't use the smoked malt in it, but brew it in the same vessels so it picks up some of the smoke flavor. I never did try it when I was there, focusing on the rauchbiers instead. The Baltika...not highly rated, but some of the more active reviewers seem to like it. Worth a shot.

It is real subtle.  I bought the last one at the beer store and hated that I couldn't have another.  I was able to get the Rauchbier recently.  Tasted like bacon. :)  Once I got used to it though, it was pretty good.

Let me know how the Baltika is.  There is a European grocery store here that caters to our Russian/Ukrainian immigrant population.  They have several different kinds of Baltika, Okocim, and a few others.  If you see the Bogemia, run away as fast as you can.  May have been the worst beer I have ever tasted.

Doesn't surprise me. Some ratings make you scratch your head. Rogue Chipotle Ale...someone gave it a 4.8. I poured it out.

Tubing sounds fun.  Best canned beers that you 'might' have access to out in MI would be from Oskar Blues Brewery.  I forget whether that is available around you though.  Young's makes (made?) a decent canned stout but not really good for warm weather.  Otherwise, trade Deca to TT and he will get you some Surly which are also awesome canned beers.

I just want to say two things.

1) Thanks for picking up those Decas for me.
2) You can thank me later for popping your trading cherry.  You'll become a slut like TT very shortly.  It's inevitable, especially with the generous individuals who hang around these here parts.

Considering the fact that Firestone Walkers are now worth 100, hmm....I wonder how much these Decas could be worth.
