I've never bought any, but I'd imagine any online deal would be destroyed by shipping costs.  Local shops here charge $40-50 each for cleaned, reconditioned, pressure tested kegs.

My guess as well, but I've found some that are cheap enough that they are comparable with shipping when you are buying multiples.

Here are some $34 ball lock kegs:  http://www.homebrewing.org/5-Gallon-Cornelious-Keg-40Ball-Lock41_p_70.html
The same site also has $25 pin lock kegs

P.S. there is a thread about this on page two with a bunch of dead links.  It may be worth clicking the links anyway and digging around those sites to see what they are currently offering.

You can find decent prices on ebay too.  You should be able to find them shipped for cheaper than $40.

The one thing to make sure when buying cheap used kegs is that they are guaranteed to hold pressure. If one keg is $10 less than another keg and holds pressure, awesome. But replacing parts (which often need to be new) adds up very quickly. If the price on non-pressure tested kegs is low enough, it might still be worth the gamble.

That's a really :goodposting:

Also, when you replace gaskets, you can get them WAY cheaper from McMaster and similar places.

Cheapest way is to find someone getting rid of brewing equipment. There is a member in our homebrew club that works in the industry and sells them used for $20 at meetings but that obviously isn't going to help you out much. As someone else mentioned, make sure they hold pressure before you buy them.

All were under pressure when I got them so I guess they are at least mostly good to go!
