De Dolle Mad Bitch 4pack canned in January on discount for 16.99. What a steal!

Also, Stillwater Business 13.5% Imperial Stout for 6.99 a 4pack. I’m only a frugal man, how could I say no. Got 2 4packs.

Might still have one of these kicking around the pantry. Pretty tasty, though the cans seemed "cleaner" somehow. That was always a pretty boozy one, iirc.

Had it Thursday and loved the can. I think cleaner is a step in the right direction for this beer.  I remember old green bottle 750s of this beer that varied in quality depending on storage/age. At the reduced cost, it would be my go-to non-Trappist Belgian Tripel (still a big fan of Westmalle).

I liked the cans too, probably much fresher than i’ve ever had besides draft too. De Garre is a top one for me too, besides Westmalle. Not the biggest fan of phenolic Belgians but i’ll drink them. Less clove more fruit.

Couple of Fig Mountain 11th anniversary at the party yesterday.  They were also filling $10 growlers so I got Hoppy Poppy IPA, Point Conception IPA, Santa Barbara Citrus and Blonde 101

Should we take a cab home, Jesus?
Shit man, we can hoof it from here.
I know you can walk on water...
But can you walk on this much beer?

Bourbon County

NG Blueberry cocoa stout should be out soon but there has been so much new stuff coming in lately it’s hard to keep up. Plus I’ve been drinking more whiskey than beer recently so I haven’t really tried much new beer to know what’s good. If I come across something though I will try to remember to post it here.

It’s oddly tart with mild cocoa getting overwhelmed by tart blueberry juice i’m assuming. Not very balanced, certainly not a full rich stout, but also not sickly sweet. More of a blueberry cocoa fruit beer.

That’s a bummer, man. I was really hoping it would be a fuller bodied Stout. I really want to try their R&D barrel aged stout to see how that one turned out.

It’s strange because the last few fruited Thumbprints have been super sweet. Sweet wild ales and tart stouts. R&D Kriek was the last fruited one that was really great, imho. Nectar Ale finally lost the sweet edge after a year in the bottle, making me believe it was unpasteurized and had some bugs at least.

Harvey's Christmas Ale
Dupont Avec Le Bon Voux 375mL
De Dolle Stille Nacht

I remembered seeing the Harvey's years ago at a shop notorious for being a beer mausoleum, so I passed on it back then. I've seen it since over the last few years, but finally interested to try it, as it's a traditional English Barleywine. https://harveys.org.uk/beer/christmas-ale

Of late, waaaaaay too fucking many... Unified Brass Knuckle Ballerina IPA yesterday.  Hazy with some NZ hops, they do not release their hop bill.  Delicious.

Just got back from the store and saw the Harvey's Xmas.  I've had this a few times in life but always aged bottles.  On the East coast this beer was relatively commonly available at beer geek stores but always aged bottles. FWIW, shelf aged versions have always been not worth it.  I passed on the fresh bottle but tell me if you like it. I'd be more than happy to give it another shot if its worth it.

It just showed up, not sure how fresh it was but there was carb and not much overt oxidation. Cap had a 3 digit code printed on it, looks like “798”. Posted review in the seasonal style thread.

Ryeway will be once it hits distribution.  Maple Jacket is going to only be sold at the brewery, but it's readily available there.

Yes!
Quote from: J-Rod
I ended up drinking 9 times my body weight in beer, broke three glasses over my head, 7 over others, ordered up 17 hookers for a little afterparty, held a cabbie hostage while running his cab through the Madison capitol doors, and I grabbed gator's ass.

3 more 4-packs of this one, it's excellent and probably the cheapest BA beer in the city. $12/4 pk.

3 more 4-packs of this one, it's excellent and probably the cheapest BA beer in the city. $12/4 pk.

Right up my alley.
Agreed. That sounds phenomenal.

Drinking one now. If I had to nitpick, it’s a little undercarbed, but hoping that might change after awhile. Nice stonefruit, there’s maybe a trace of THP in the aftertaste, but it’s very slight and maybe it’s just the Brett. Every sip is different, layered and multifaceted. Pretty cool stuff.

Canned 12/21/21

Kinda crazy how fresh this is. Less tart, kinda reminds me of a Dubbel.

$27 I think. Singles are $8-9, so it’s a couple more oz. than the 11.2oz. bottles for the same price.

Left Hand Milk Stout
Lost Coast 8-ball Stout
DuClaw Pastryarchy Oat Milk imperial
Short's Super Delicious
