hot as balls

we really stuck close to my brother in law's most of the time. went to the zoo one day. went "downtown" another to see the 90% shuttered entertainment district.

caught the Muhammad Ali museum which was super emotional and highly recommended.

he's a... guy that doesn't like people (moreso than even bison) and he has a huge fucking house with a pool and hot tub on a couple acres of land so he was keen on us staying there and not leaving so we didn't see much of Louisville as my wife was content to just visit instead of exploring.

we did catch a fantastic little diner in southern Indiana on the way out of town after the Bob Evans and Waffle House spots we tried stopping at were packed to the gills (90 minute waits ---- wtf).

i always get a kick out of how thick the southern accent is in southern Indiana. those people wear it with more pride than even the Kentuckians we heard speaking.

Sergio usually will have as many imports (Belgian, German other notables) on tap as domestic, and a lot of it could be things you might not have heard of... Whats really fun is that he can produce the proper glass for most of the Belgian and German offerings.  Sergio travels the world for beer like I travel the US for beer, and he's been to some far out places (North Korea for instance) to explore the beer world.  He's from Brazil, and is usually wearing a cap for the Brazilian football team.  And yes, it is divey, and its cash only... and in addition to the beer, he somehow manages to produce seem pretty decent international food items in a tiny kitchen.

It sounds even more impressive to me now  Can't think of another place quite like it.

Jedi's story reminds me of the strong Brazilian contingent among the diehard fans of Kulminator. It's funny how crotchety the owner Dirk is, but when the Brazilian crew comes to town, he parties like a college kid. :suds:
