Summer Yulesmith (DIPA) should be here on July 2nd and their Decadence Old Ale is making it's return around the same time.

Decadence was brewed last year but only sold at the brewery and it was a very small batch. This year they're going to release it to retail stores, like in 05.

Just got done talking to Bill at the brewery:

The Decadence this year is an Imperial Red Ale, a juiced up version of their Evil Dead Red.
9.9% alc.

I'll be getting 8 cases at my store  :pickle:

Summer Yulesmith (DIPA) should be here on July 2nd

Why don't they call the Winter one Yulesmith and the Summer one Summersmith? Makes much more sense than making us worry about which is which release. Maybe I'll name my new microbrewery SummerSmith. Just to show them up.

Sure. So what are we looking at here? You design the beer and I brew it and try not to foul it up?

Well, if that's the plan then we are doomed.

But I'll go along with that. I'd like you to use these ingredients please:
water
hops
malts

In that order. Thanks in advance for your help. I'll check back in to see how things are going.

Peter from Alesmith just posted this on Rate Beer about the next Barrel-Aged release:
"Hi RBers!
I know, we’re behind in our releases of the barrel-aged beers once again. So late, that they’ve almost all been retired from the site! That’s about to change: we have 7 different batches of barrel-aged beers representing 4 different labels already in the bottle and awaiting their release. We’ll be conducting carbonation checks in the next few weeks and will pick a release date soon thereafter. The plan is to let them all go at once- a barrel-aged extravaganza if you willexcited The labels and vintages will be: BA Old Numbskull (’05 & ’06); BA Wee Heavy (’05 & ’06); BA Speedway Stout (’05 & ’06); and 10.5 cases of a Decadence ’05 blend that has not been previously released.

As our barrel-aging enters it’s 6th year, we’ve been experimenting more with blending multiple vintages in order to obtain the flavors and aromas that we’re looking for. And yes, there will be a BA Decadence ’06 Dead By dawn some time up the road...

I’ll keep you posted. If you want to make sure you know first, then subscribe to my newsletter at www.alesmith.com.

Thanks everyone!

What you picked up was Decadence Dead by Dawn brewed in 06 and released in 07. It was released late due to carbonation issues.

The 07 will be released later this year and will be a totally different style.

Around 280.

I hope they organize it well because that's a lot of beer labels they'll be selling and it could become an unorganized mess.

Also, at $20 per bottle, its gonna get expensive. I think I'm only going to buy the 05 bottles of each.

Good point.  I'd be crazy-happy with one vintage from each label.  But realistically, if I even get one bottle of anything it would be have to be considered a huge score.

If there is anything that you are not going to buy, IN IN IN.  Buy what you can and I would be most happy with the leftovers that you don't want.

On Ratebeer.com today:

AleSmith Barrel-aged Beer Release

AleSmith was one of the first to present barrel-aged beers earlier this decade, and the tradition continues with the release of three more vintages from 2005. Barrel-aged Old Numbskull 2005, Barrel-aged Wee Heavy 2005, and Barrel-aged Decadence 2005 will be made available on Friday, September 28th from the brewery only. Each bottle is numbered and marked as vintage barrel-aged. Because of the limited number of bottles, sales will be restricted to (2) two bottles each of the Old Numbskull and Wee Heavy, and (1) one bottle of the Decadence 2005. This Barrel-aged Decadence is the English-style Old Ale brewed for our Tenth Anniversary and has been previously released. However, a partial barrel was hiding and we now are pleased to say that we have 10 more cases of the Barrel-aged Decadence 2005.

The bottle sale will begin at 3:00PM on Friday, September 28th at the rear of the brewery from the 9366 suite. Please stick around for the party that follows, as we’ll be tapping a cask of Decadence 2006 "Dead By Dawn". More information on the party will be published soon in our newsletter. (To subscribe, please go to www.alesmith.com and follow the links to join the newsletter group).

Just received word that the 07 Decadence will be released sometime in April.

Unfortunately, they wouldn't let me in on what style it's going to be, even after constant badgering by me.

I don't know why they like being so secretive.
