I don't know if I did this right.  I added this on the Calendar as an event, and it is listed there as well as here but I see nothing about "I'm Going".

Naproxen where do you guys stay for this event?

Last year, we camped at Little River in Waterbury...just a few minutes from the Alchemist.
http://www.vtstateparks.com/htm/littleriver.htm

We had a nice site and there was no one around our lot.

Best Western is right nearby too but not worth the price tag IMO.
Both are about a 45 minute drive to Mad River Glenn, so keep that in mind.
We had a designated driver and hit up American Flatbread on our way back....place was mobbed after SIP.

Hostel Tevere in Warren.

The hotel we stayed at year 1 is no longer around, but it was also in the Waitsfield/Warren area.

Not many chain type hotels in the area, just a bunch of B&B's and lodges seeing it's a ski town.  I believe there's a Best Western in Waterbury, but that is a bit of a haul from Mad River after a brewfest.  I did see though in the 411 section that they're offering a shuttle service this year which is new.  I'd just google map search lodging in the Fayston area...TBS should totally invade SIPtemberfest     We should all stay at the Hostel, they have a kick ass bar, great food, and a friendly pooch   ;D

okay... lets try this again...
for the people that have attended the fest, what's the appeal besides the beer...
is it a chill beer fest with decent beer, are brewers all out and bring crazy shit.
was the first year a shadow of the second, with the second having such improvements that it made the first year look weak?
with my 10 tokens (I hate tokens btw) will I get to try just a handful of beer, is there a cutoff on samples and what is sample size.
I know it's vermont and vermont is a beautiful place, but throw me a bone people.

I know it's vermont and vermont is a beautiful place, but throw me a bone people.

Besides the great beer, the appeal is the location.  It is in Vermont right when the leaves are changing (attn you non-New England leafers) on a ski slope.  The beers are served by the brewer's themselves 90% of the time right on the deck facing the mountain.  I know that Sean Lawson won't personally be in attendance this year, but his beers of course will be.  There are local fooderies serving treats, the single-chair foliage rides, and you can go walk around the slopes and chill out wherever when you need a little break.

The first year obviously sold us on the fest, it was a nice relaxed time.  Year 2 for me just saw an increase in attendance and a small change in breweries that attended (adding Hill Farmstead).

As for the samples, I too hate tokens.  That being said I have a nice collection of leftover wooden tokens from both years and never left unsatisfied or legally sober.  The souvenir sample glasses are real nice and I've used them at special releases for sampling, I'd guess about 5oz?  It's a healthy pour so you aren't doing shots of beer, and it's a relaxed atmosphere so you can lean back and enjoy that Lawson's Double Sunshine for a few.  You can also purchase more tokens after the fest is underway, so that everyone gets their 10.  The fest is not huge, each year so far has been quality over quantity.  Most breweries are bringing 3-4 brews, you could get a sample of probably every brew you really want without having to re-up on tokens.

Hostel Tevere is THE place to be.  They hosted a post-party which was ridiculous for so many hilarious reasons (who's van are we in anyways?) and we just had to stumble upstairs at the end of the night.  They do a great brunch and have 2-3 local brews on tap, even more if they do another party.  Cesare the dog is a party animal.

The sum it all up, SIPtemberfest for Adam and I is the whole weekend of events.  A short drive from all this is Waterbury and all the greatness that is The Alchemist and Blackback Pub, free cheese at cabot, the trip's first beer at Harpoon, and so forth.

TBS invasion?  This needs to happen.

The fest is also $25...I'm not sure you can find a fest with beer of this quality for that cheap anywhere.
