Stone's Sublimely Self-Righteous is back and I'm in love (sorry GWufe) again. The aroma brought me back to 10 years ago.

This year's edition is pretty damn good!  I had two cans over the weekend. Will probably go back for the sixer this weekend!

...new beer styles I now hate.

At first they were interesting and "refreshing" because they were new and tasty but now that every Joe-schmoe brewery has one out....I HATE THEM.  :hot:
Bitter, piney, citrusy and....roasty? I'm done with 'em now, thanks.

What say you?
Heh... seeing this thread revived, have to wonder, Geoi, which would you rather have, a black IPA or a hazy IPA?

Damn guys. I enjoyed the white IPA, at least the few early examples I tried. I think Blvd was the first one to make it. The ones I tried were American hoppy wheats that controlled the esters and provided a soft body to offset the harsh aspects of hops. I’m sure as the style spread there were very shitty examples.

Speaking of hoppy wheat beers, I used to drink the shit out of this. Maybe my favorite beer at the time it was out. Been a while now, maybe they will bring it back soon.

So it was a dunkelweizen? I've had it, but it was 15 years ago. Really wish they'd re-brew these beers. They do realize half their consumer base was too young to remember it now? Hell I barely remember it. This is a flaw of the voting system I guess.

Wow I forgot all about that one. They should definitely start bringing some of these back. Black Top too. I always liked that beer.

The talk in here about self righteous led me to drop by Stone since I hadn't been there in a while and had some time to kill (on the clock/OT). It was good as were the others I tried but I've been hankering for a wee heavy recently and they had one that was a homebrew recipe I guess. A bit sweet but I liked it quite a bit. $20 4 pack though so I'll have to let that one stew a bit.
Beer. It always seems like such a good idea at the time. What's worse is beer seems like an even better idea after you've had some beer.
