Just a little more to chew on.  I've been thinking about the weekend and in my mind, I view this as a Friday to Monday thing.  Some folks will be able to make it Friday and some will be able to stay through Monday (dependent on how time off requests go), so that is how I am viewing things.  Some will roll in Friday night, everyone will be here by Saturday, some will roll out on Sunday, and most will be on their way by Monday afternoon/evening.

I'm going to look to Lum for a little help with ideas on the food, especially breakfasts.  I have a few ideas rolling around.  I think Friday night will be homemade pizzas.  I do my own crusts, so that keeps things on the cheap, at least somewhat.  The only pie that will be made for sure is sausage and extra sauce, so feel free to let me know what you like on your pie if you will be there on Friday night.  Saturday dinner will probably be pulled pork sandwiches with chips (thanks for the idea Lum).  Sunday dinner will probably be hamburgers on the grill with some kind of side.  This leaves breakfasts and lunches up for grabs.  I figure that eggs, meats, potatoes will work for breakfast.  I'll need to work on borrowing enough cooking vessels to do what I want in the morning, but I think I can make that happen.  This leaves lunches as the big unknown.  We can always roll out and hit the local BBQ joint or something too for a meal or two.

In talking with folks in chat and otherwise, there have been a few items for discussion.  First is do we want to try and have some themes for the days in terms of the beer that we tackle?  There has been some solid interest in doing at least some sours, so do we want to designate one of the nights as a sour night (with keg beer available for those that need to have something in between to provide a buffer).  I've heard some calls for imperial stouts one night.  I'm open to suggestions on this for sure.

If there is any interest in hitting a beer store, the closest here is an hour away in Paducah, KY.  I've already told my beer guy that we're doing this in May.  He'll probably roll down for a night to hang out and if folks are interested in rolling up, I just need to give him a little warning and he will work on having stocks of what folks are interested in to the best of his ability.

I think this is all I have for now.

EDIT:  Just for full disclosure, we have 3 cats.  If you have allergies, keep that in mind.

I had a bit of a panic today when I realized that we have tickets to Les Mis around that time.  I was very worried that I had bought them for Saturday, but turns out, I got them for Friday.  I'm sorry that we'll miss the Pizza but we should be able to get there reasonably early on Saturday.  Can't wait...and looks like we could most likely haul 2 people from Nashville if anyone is flying in here and needs a ride.

CATS?!!! WTF!!!!!!!?????

As far as breakfast goes, if you have a deli in town with meats, cheeses and breads, I am sure Tara and I would be down to spring for a cold cut breakfast or two.  Great hangover food.  If you don't have a deli or place to get such things, I would be down for stopping in Nash-vegas or Huntsville on the way up to pick up some stuff.  Makes for an  easy meal or two (easy prep, easy clean up).

As far as a Beer Store trip, I'd be down with that as well.  We could carpool up and that could break up one day so we aren't cooped up drinking all day.  That would also give us more options for a lunch out.

I don't know if my car can handle a 12-hour drive, but I'm still considering it.  If it's anything like Lumfest, it's worth it.

Since I wasn't at Lumfest, I have no point of reference.  I'm not quite sure anyone will really know what Bracfest will be like till it happens.  My whole take on it is that it will be defined by the people that are there and what we make of the time we have, the beers we drink, and the debauchery we partake in.

So far my only plans are:
1: Make sure everyone has somewhere to lay their head
2: Make sure everyone has food to eat
3: Make sure we don't run out of beer

Feel free to let me know what else I need to add to that list.

Hookers, blow, and a small person toss.  The hooker can be a small person, but she has to be durable and provide the blow.

ohhhhhhhhhhh shit...
My friends say I'm like doing the laundry and forgetting the bleach: I'm not as bright as I could be.

In, pending a spot inside the house. Floor works fine, I just don't do tents.

It's only about a 13 hour drive. I've made the solo drive from brac's door to my door in one day before.

I'll probably take off one day, but I can do two if absolutely necessary. I'd prefer to leave Thursday after work and get there to nap on Friday morning, then leave Sunday around 10.

Oh, Thick wouldn't mind sleeping in a tent except that, well, here's what happened last time they found one big enough for him...
