Bell's Java Stout - Batch 7706
« on: September 12, 2010, 01:53:45 PM »
The Bell's Brewery batch number you searched '7706' is a Bell's Java Stout and was bottled on October 26th, 2006.

Found this one lost in the back of the cellar. I think I was hanging onto it back in the days when Bell's had to pull out of Illinois. One of those beers you find and know you should have drank sooner.

A good deal of oxidation is there along with an underlying mix of chocolate and coffee. Tastes pretty much to be expected, everything has mellowed and congealed together and there's still a nice coffee/chocolate kick on the finish.

Still drinkable, but definitely not something I'd age on purpose.....though it's kinda fun to try these "accidentally" cellared brews every now and again.
It's better to regret something you have done, than it is to regret something you haven't done.
