It's brewday!!!
« on: November 12, 2007, 09:30:08 AM »

Brewing an American Pale Ale with Perle, Cascade, & Amarillo (dry-hop)

Hoping for a slightly hoppier SNPA

ETA:  I'm giving White Labs American Ale Blend (WLP060).  I've never used this yeast but have had really good luck with the California Ale Yeast on several Pale Ales.

Should be breaking out mine soon.

How did your brewday go?
Don't look back, you're not going that way.

It went well.  Hit the upper end of my target gravity.  No surprises after I ran out of propane while heating up my mash water.  Made some good progress in the book I'm reading while mashing.  It would have been a little nicer had it not been overcast.  All in all, it beats the hell out of work.

Tapped the keg today!  Cloudy gold pour.  The initial aroma is overwhelmingly citrusy as is the first taste.  It mellows nicely into a very nice APA, pretty similar (after the initial punch to the nose and taste buds) to SNPA.
