What Thick said. That's a damn fine beer.

How far is Dave's from Madison? I'd love to take a trip to check the place out next year; maybe around the time of the Taste.

takes an hour from downtown Minneapolis, 45 minutes from downtown St. Paul.
Not a bad drive either, its a straight shot on 94, and well worth it  :ale:

Had a disc golf weekend near Eau Claire last June, and I didn't even realize we were only 10 miles from Dave's Brew Farm.

Will definitely be making up for that in 2012. This is now a must-stop.

Right now, it looks like we'll hit Dave's on the afternoon of June 23, 2012. Of course, I still have to check if it'll be open. A lot of time between now and then.

You're invited if you bring some MN gems!    ;D

The Brewfarm is putting on a dinner party this Saturday Sept. 29th and they have a few slots open if anyone is interested.
It's a five course meal prepared by a local chef who grows his own seasonal foods and the pastry chef is a well known local chef that will be making the desert.  Each course comes with, you guessed it, a brew to match the food. $50 per person. Get in touch with Dave or Pam to register, use facebook if you have it.
I will be a server and get a table of 8 to serve all the beers and meal too. Then afterwards, I get to sit down and eat and drink the same... for free.  ;D

The Brewfarm has huge plans of expanding on site with a new tap room, a greenhouse, a chicken coop, and having more events on site as well.
It'll be interesting to see the changes they make and coming to life over the next year.

Strange.  I'm guessing it was BrewFarm Select and Matacabras, which were contract brewed.

Yes, both of the contract beers were stopped. I think it had something to do with not have enough capacity for them(@point?!? i think could be wrong though). Someone mentioned they were trying to get a bottling line going there at some point but i have not heard anything recently. This could be part of the changes Jef was talking about not sure.

Both Select and Mata were out bid for contract work at the respective breweries where they were being brewed and Dave decided not to even try to out bid. Decided to focus on the on-site facility more instead of play the money by numbers game.
Hence the coming additions and changes to the Brewfarm itself. The bottling line is still a go, but no word as to when it will arrive and be operational. He has plans for the return of both those beers and at least one more for bottling to start, which will be something of his single hop lager brews he has been doing.

I will be heading out there next month sometime and will try to find out more.

Spent the day out on the BrewFarm yesterday, lots of new brews were had.  :ale:  :banned:
Some of which will be making the trek to Great Taste.

In other news, nothing really progressing on the bottling :(

but the chicken coop is up and the gardens are blooming.

They look to be breaking ground for the new tap room(across the back drive and close to the turbine) in the next month or so, no date is set, but they have all the contracts and construction lined up.

Plus the new beers were yummy and a year old 'Bruiser' was super excellent yummy.  :banned:
