Nice.  Got there a day early.

The Heavy Handed's are different batches made with different fresh hops.

VERY cool - it'll be fun to compare the two.

I'm heading to Raleigh the day after Thanksgiving for the annual Shang Extended Family Reunion Trip.  :banned:  Looking for anything from NC?  Should be able to find Highland Tasgall fairly easily - no idea what other fun stuff Sam's in Durham may have.  Hoping they have growlers of Pisgah... no idea if that is just a pipe dram or not!

  Nothing particular.  Surprise me.

Hey there...

Want

Not at all a problem.  I'm over there every couple of weeks.  Would have already sent a growler of it but they handle growlers the way gorillas handle suitcases.  Once saw them fill one pu pouring and decanting pints into the growler. I'm dead serious.  Thankfully their bottling line is much better.

The growler contains Flying Bison Double IPA.

The St. Florian bottle with the black electrical tape on it is Pump Station Winter Warmer 2008.

Happy this one made it there safely.  Enjoy!!!

That place has really come on in the past couple of years - the bartender (same guy that's been there forever) said that it went from a one off to a seasonal and now they want to do it year round, just based on demand.  It's powerful drinkable.

D'oh!  It's Pearl Street Double IPA.   Brewed by an ex assistant brewer at Flying Bison, recipes almost identical.

Aaaahhhhh ... haven't had their version, but sounds like it should be just about the same. IIRC, the Flying Bison one was called "Bird of Prey" or something like that.

From what I remember of the two (the DIPA was not available at FB this past trip), they were very similar.  I think this one was called Blizzard or something like that.

  The Winterizer should be consumed quickly - picked it up last time home, but it's been kept cold the whole time so hopefully it held up.  Enjoy!

Box came literally as I was leaving the house.  I pulled the growlers out and put them in the fridge.  Everything else is still packed in there.  Will update when I get home tonight after the Founders event.

My buddy Shang's brother Banzai goes over to Germany on business on occasion and has been known to secret away one or two in his luggage.  After much cajoling (i.e. we got ripping drunk) Shang said he'd liberate one from Banzai's stash and sent it up.

My buddy Shang's brother Banzai goes over to Germany on business on occasion and has been known to secret away one or two in his luggage.  After much cajoling (i.e. we got ripping drunk) Shang said he'd liberate one from Banzai's stash and sent it up.

Well thanks Shang for me then.

Thought I had it out.  Then the printer broke here.  Now I am going to wait until Monday so it isn't in a warehouse over the weekend.  Sorry dude.

Nice, it always seems to get to your place a day earlier than scheduled.  Drink the growlers sooner rather than later.

Bakes let his wife open his beer???  It is a monkey on the cap.  That growler is Monkey Business, their Coconut infused Porter.

It isn't a label.  They drew a monkey on each cap.

Finishing up the growler of Flat Earth IPA, then whatever crawls outta the fridge next.   Basement's essentially done, so now I can relax for a few weeks - no power tools = beer may be consumed.  :banned:
