Fuck, I need to save more than I thought for this trip. Looking like Great Taste is less and less of an option.

wait.. what.. fuck that

It's an expensive trip for me. After four summers in a row, I think I need a different end of summer vacation.

Just don't frakin' go to Vancouver on Sunday for beer...

The Alibi room closes at 3:00 PM (only open for Brunch on Sunday) and a few of the other spots didn't open until 5:00...
we had to settle for Fogg & Sudds

This post bothers me. Is this still a problem 4 years later?

not at all.  check out the websites of the places I listed in the OP.  I'm sure they're all open on Sundays.

I'd try and get something in the downtown on hotwire or priceline. Depending on your price range, you can always grab something out in Richmond out near the airport and just ride the Canada line in.

You flying or driving?

Flying in and out of Seattle. Either driving up and back from there or doing a ferry. We want to see the San Juan islands at some point too. Any recommendations on that front? Worth an overnight stay, or just a day trip? :totallyunprepared:

I've never been to the San Juan Islands..  I've only went past them on a ferry when going from Vancouver to Victoria.

There should be walk up tickets available. It's about 48000 seat stadium, and the Canucks play LA that night too, so there will be plenty of tickets available. There will be a great atmosphere in the city that day
The Southsiders are located in Sections 248-254 so we strongly urge away supporters to avoid these sections as well as section 201-207 which are other designated home supporters sections.
Those are the sections you want to be near. The Southsiders are always chanting and singing

N/M.  I see they're all sold out near there.  $48 is the lowest I've seen as well.

Found out Canada doesnt have a station for live la liga games. One of them sometimes reairs them.

Alibi was cool. It was jam packed. We got lucky and took two open stools. Probably try to check it out againe on more of an off hr.

Off to drink with the whitecap supporters soon!   :ale:

Dave is really good at going to a beer fest all day then doing jager bombs then somehow finding his way across town to his hotel

Phew....Vancouver is all that.  Traveling back yesterday in the midst of daylight savings SUCKED.

Steamworks - ok beer, their low abv Cascadian Cream was pretty decent.  We went here twice for the view of the bay and ate dinner here the first or second night in town.

Yaletown Brewing - our first stop of the trip after dropping the bags off.  The food was better than I expected and I liked the atmosphere.  Beer was better than Steamworks.  We missed their cask tapping of an IPA, but the saison on at the time was tasty and I really like the Old Bruin

Rogue Wet Bar - most frequented of the trip, the bartenders definitely recognized us after the 2nd trip.  We brought others here later in the week.  The food was good, location was good, and beer selection was fantastic.  I discovered my love for Driftwood's Fat Tug here.  They also were an easy bar to get into and get a seat, which was very important.

Alibi Room - Hmmmm.  It took us 3 trips here to get in.  First trip, I learned that seats at the bar are NOT first come, and can have up to an hour wait.  Pass.  2nd trip was later in the evening on a Saturday, maybe midnight, but they were closing.  3rd trip we met up with Sebowski and friend and had a great time, but got moved around 3 times to either accomodate another larger party or to sit together....weird.  Beer selection was unbeatable though, I would have liked to have had another shot at drinking here.

Granville Island Brewing - why?  Maple Cream Ale, Winter Ale

Whistler - Didn't get to the brewpub, only local light beers on.  On the other hand, I might now be ruined from ever enjoying riding on an east coast slope again.

Stanley Park - We walked the seawall from downtown up around the west corner and then took a path to cut through the middle.  It was a really nice day and I love how dog-friendly and open Vancouver is.  There are many areas/parks that are off-leash.

W. Hastings St -  :rockzo:  all day.  Glorious.

My mind is still a coast away, about 4 hours behind, so that's all I got right now  :P

I did get to try one of their brews at Alibi, but I have no idea which one.  They had a few listed but none had actually arrived or something silly.
