I was successful at creeping out A-A-Ron's wife by waving to her.  She was a little less creeped when I told her who I was.

Join us on Friday 9/3 4PM for the release of Grimm Brothers newest seasonal
beer, Big Bad Wolf, a sticke altbier. BBW is a modification of Little
Red Cap, but a bit maltier, a bit hoppier and a bit badder.

Weighing in at 8.3% abv, this amber ale was dry hopped with Hallertaur
and Saaz to give it a full tasty flavor. So bring your bad side out on
Friday and join us for the newest beer at Grimm Brothers.

Little Red looks stunning in silver. Over the weekend at the Colorado State Fair, Little Red Cap won 2nd place in the amber hybrids category. This is the first award for the Alt style ale as well as for the young brewery. Little Red Cap was show cased along with Fearless Youth and Snow Drop at the 2010 Foam Festival at the state fair as well.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse is releasing our next seasonal beer...

The Owl.  A smoked porter at 7.6% ABV.  A nice balance between smoked malts and a lite roast and chocoate character.  Will be released on 10/22 at 1:00pm at the brewery.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse is proud to present into its regular rotation, Master Thief German Porter.  Starting on Saturday 11/13, GBB will have Master Thief available year round and will also distribute it to the best of Northern Colorado’s restaurants.  Master Thief is a dark porter with underlining chocolate and coffee notes with just a hint of roast and malty undertones leaving a smooth finish.  Stop by the brewery at 547 N Denver Ave in Loveland and try this beer for yourself.

The story behind Master Thief if pretty cool.  Basically a rich guy comes back to town.  He ends up talking to an old man and eventually says that he is the son of the older man.  The father asks how he became so rich, so the son says he steals from the rich.  The father says he cant accept his son being a thief but says if the king accepts him then he will too.  So the thief visits the king.  The king, not happy, challenges the thief and says if you can steal three of his prize possessions then he will except him.  The thief through cunning and luck, is able to steal the kings favorite horse, the queen’s wedding ring and the king’s prized sheets.  Impressed, the king accepts the thief and calls him Master Thief, and the son is able to rekindle with his father.

Happy American Craft Beer Week.  In celebration Grimm Brothers will be releasing a new "Fabled Friday" beer every single day of the week.  Not familiar with our Fabled Friday series?  Basically we take one of our beers and we add a twist to create a new flavor.  See below for what we are planning next week…

Tue - "Big Bad Brettanomyce Wolf" - To kick things off for the American Craft Beer week, we are releasing "Fabled Friday" beers every day of the week starting with a special beer that will kick things off right.  Our Schtick Altbier, Big Bad Wolf, that has been aged with a wild yeast called Brettanomyce's.  A complex beer with a nice slight sour and fruity characteristic.

Wed - "Thief of the Caribbean" -  A continuation of the American Craft Beer week brings another "Fabled Friday" beer for everyone to enjoy.  We start with of our German Porter, Master Thief, and add a twist of coconut for a Caribbean flare.  Let your pirate side come out and try this island inspired beer.  Arrrrg 'you going to come down and try it?

Thu - "Snow Drop, No Seeds Needed" - Our next celebration beer for the American Craft Beer week comes via Snow Drop for our "Fabled Friday" beer.   We move from the Caribbean to Tropics and added Watermelon to our Snow Drop.  But don't worry you wont have to spit out the seeds with this tasty beer.  This is one of those beers that you not going to want to miss.

Fri - "Blackberry Youthful Delight" - It's Friday, and why not continue our salute to American Craft Beer week with another "Fabled Friday" beer.  It is Friday after all.  Come celebrate by trying another fruity addition to a beer.  Blackberry infused Fearless Youth.  Can you say tasty?

Sat - "Juniper Orange Peel Red Cap" - Only two more days left to try our American Craft Beer week inspired "Fabled Friday" beers to try.  Today's beer of intrigue is Juniper Red Cap with a hint of Orange Peel for a slight citrus finish.  Daily Dawg will have their new Brauts available as well.  Heaven?

Sun - "Master Thief meets Mr Chipotle" - Last day to try our "Fabled Friday" beer to celebrate American Craft Beer week.  Why not finish off the week in style with a southern delight, Chipotle Master Thief.  Little bit of chocolate, little bit of coffee and a little bit of chipotle.  Come on down and give it a try.

That one was difficult.  I ended up putting in the watermelon extract, but it was really bitter.  So I just added a bunch of jolly ranchers to it and it sweetened it right up.

This weekend was great fun.  We participated in the Gnarley Barley beer fest at the Larimer County Fair and defended our title as People's Choice Award.  Last year it took them 2 weeks to count all the tokens but this year we had double what the 2nd place votes had.  So they announced the winner at the end of the fest.  Each person coming into the fest received one white token and could vote on their favorite brewery at the fest.  Very stoked and greatful of all the Grimm Bros fans out there.   :ale:  :pickle:
