Wil and I got a ticket a piece. Des Plaines Dave apparently got a ticket as well. Kate was saying there was a deep line when she got to work at noon to open up the front. Beer in Chicago has jumped the shark.

We've been brewing some hoss beers as of late. Beers that have been tipping the octane scales and are dark as tar. To round out the spectrum and mix up the seasonal heft, we brewed a session pale ale called, Callow Knife, to join cold spell. This beer is a malt twin to Daisy Cutter, but we dry hopped the snot out of it with Falconer and Citra hops. These are new hops to our brewery and ones we were eager to get in the tank.

We brewed a bunch of it to ride out winter and sidecar all the larger beers we're brewing this season.

We should release next Friday Jan 28. It will be draft only, but, of course, we are working up Tshirts to commemorate the Callow Knife.

Careful,

From the blog:

We also have another one-off to be released next Wednesday 4/13. It's a Kolsch called The Crusch. This will be a draft only release for growler fills at the brewery. Come by and pick up a growler, it's easy.......

Heard from one of the brewers that it's dry hopped with Citra...sounds pretty interesting.    :excited:

Hack > hey

On 11/11/11 in collaboration with Half Acre Beer Company, we are releasing a commemorative Lumpen 20th Anniversary beer called The Chairman. The Chairman is an Imperial Red Ale created to remember the men and women who worked on Lumpen magazine and became Chairmen of the Boring Theoretical Party (BTP).

At one of the Sexual Chocolate releases I went to, there was a guy that wore a plastic donkey head mask.  He ran up and down the line a few times braying.  I did not know wtf was going on.  Later I heard him telling someone else that he was just a beer mule  <_<
