Flags/signage found from a few years ago when Squid got sick and couldn't go.
So, these are unused and beautiful.

Going on a vacation that is not planned around beer destinations is a foreign concept to me.

The trade-off was having zero gas/lodging expenses, and just chipping in some for food.

That was most likely Bent River Camembert.  One of my favorites and in my regular rotation.

Yes, Keith's dip was awesome as always. It's the only salmon thing I like.

Whatever cheese Eileen and Jeff brought, that she pointed out to me (something really gooey), was divine. And Sev brought our two faves (Valdeon, a Spanish blue, and Piave, a hard Italian), which meant I ate a lot of those  :-[

The one that was basically a rind and a pool of liquid cheese was the Little Bloom on the Prairie. I thought the Alemar round wasn't as oozy, but idk now... (memory hazy, try again).

On a whim I just put some on a thin gingersnap and it was awesome. Think pumpkin/cream cheese with a little more savory cheese rind funk.

Should we try to figure out the logistics for this a little bit? Maybe it was just because I couldn't drink last year (never again), but I remember thinking it would be nice to have a couple of little tables so the cheeses and other snacks can be spread out a bit, making everything more accessible.  The last couple of years we've had so many people for this (which is amazing!), and so much food that it has seemed pretty crowded.  Nick and I can bring a stack of little plates for everyone.  Who brought the table last year? Does anyone else have a little traveling/camp table that could come along? Those labels were awesome last year. Was that you, Seversquids?  Or Emerge?  I can't remember.  But let's do that again. :excited:  :banned: :pickle:

There seems to be some confusion about cheese off location. Let's do it at the TBS camp behind the real ale tent where Ed has camp set up.

There seems to be some confusion about cheese off location. Let's do it at the TBS camp behind the real ale tent where Ed has camp set up.
I think we need a better way in general to let everyone know where TBS camp is.  We ended up out front of the 100 tent (which is where Murph's table was set up). I circled around all of the "camp" areas around Real Ale and the 100 and 200 tents and didn't see anyone I recognized.

Of course, not knowing for sure who's going to be the first in makes it hard to plant a flag or something like that, but it would be cool to do so.

Crack Pretzels:

2 15-oz bags of pretzels
1 cup veg oil
1 envelope Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper

Mix oil and seasonings, pour over pretzels and mix until well-coated. Bake at 200F for 1.5 hours, stirring every 15 minutes. Allow to cool then store in an airtight container.
