Special Announcement from Springfield

The GABF is excited to welcome a new official sponsor, The Simpsons! The Simpsons are celebrating their 20th anniversary and we are thrilled to have them participate in this year's festival.
The Simpsons will open each session of the festival with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Since festival goers have to be 21 years of age to enter, Bart and Lisa will just have to hang around outside.

Stay tuned for more details about The Simpsons at the GABF!

So since stankysell can't come this year, who wants to get their drink on with me on Thursday?  Also, has anyone else noticed the lack of hype compared to The Taste on here?  Fuckin midwesterners.

Beer. It always seems like such a good idea at the time. What's worse is beer seems like an even better idea after you've had some beer.

well, I was thinking we could set up a meeting time during 1 of the sessions at 1 of the breweries, OR I vote we pick a time to meet at Dry Dock Brewery.  Friday sometime?

This is starting to sound complicated.  All I have scheduled for Friday is the Rare Beer Tasting benefitting Pints for Prostates.  I heard the new Dry Dock Brewery is pretty cool - lots of space.

not sure when I'd be free on Thursday and I don't want to be driving around drunk in a rental car. might be able to get out for a beer or two Friday night.

The light rail can get you around town pretty easy.  And there is a decent bus routs around Denver.  Not sure around Dry Dock though.

I might be able to pull this off. I checked on our travel site and there's actually a few places with rooms available that fit into our $ allowable rates. Then narrow that down to places that have 2 doubles and I get Loews, about 4.5 miles away. Also not too far from Dry Dock.

I'd have to check to see if I can cut my stay in Boulder a couple days short without paying a fee.

And of course I'd have to buy a ticket to the fest. Still some (no idea how many) left for thursday.

Light Rail doesn't really go north.  They have been talking about it for a while.  Here is a map...

http://www.rtd-denver.com/LightRail_Map.shtml

The H line is close to Dry Dock.  Not to familar with South Denver.

I know there is a bus line that goes from Boulder to Denver along 36.  Also there are bus trips from downtown Denver that go up to Boulder and Fort Collins.  I think you might be able to find some of those on AHA's website as well.  Maybe someone else here knows a bit more

looking right now Thursday is 83% sold.  Friday night and Saturday AHA Member sessions are sold out.  Saturday night is 96% sold.

Also, new this year is the VIP entrance for AHA members at all the regular sessions. To gain VIP access, you have to be an AHA member and have your ticket stamped VIP.  You will not be able to enter by only showing your AHA card.  If you have a ticket that is not stamped, you can go to will call with your ID, and current AHA membership card and they will verify and stamp your ticket.

I'm looking to share a hotel room Th & Friday. Let me know if anyone is interested.  Preferrably with 5 mi's or easy public transportation.

I might have spare tickets.  Waiting to see if the wife wants to go to a session or if anyone is coming into town.

 you would get a bed for almost nothing (hopefully nothing: extra adult fee?). I'd need to see if I can do part of the week in one hotel and the rest in another. I don't see why not. Lemme know.
Beer. It always seems like such a good idea at the time. What's worse is beer seems like an even better idea after you've had some beer.

Okay, you are in for Thursday.  The wife is on the fence for the Saturday session so it's 50/50.  Are you still going to be in town for Saturday?  Thursday, we will have a ton of homebrews at the World Brewers Forum for after the fest.  I didn't get tickets for Friday.  Also, the tickets are stamped for the VIP line.  I can pony up any extra funds too.

I'll be flying out around 1pm Saturday. Probably head to the airport around 11 and have a beer there while waiting. I'll have to take it "easy" Thursday since I still have to go to work Friday. :D

So you have a ticket for me for Thursday? You take a check? :D

I'll work on the hotel room in the morning and hope for the best. :fingerscrossed:
