Beachwood Sour Fest...

August 25-31

In the works for over 2 years, the Beachwood Sour Fest has arrived. Starting August 25-31, Beachwood BBQ will host a week long tribute to some of the best sour beers available. Over the course of the week we will have between 40 and 50 different sour beers on draft, some we have been cellaring since the day we opened. Through out the week we will pay tribute to several breweries. During these nights the beers from these breweries will be poured at a special price and come with glassware, t-shirts, etc. There will be at least 22 sour beers on tap at any given time. Some of the highlights will include vintage kegs from Cantallion, Jolly Pumpkin, Bruery, Avery, Lost Abbey, Russian River, Deschuetes, Allagash, New Belgium and many more surprises to come.
The master list of sours will be posted 2-3 weeks before the event. We will be offering beer pours at 5.5 oz and 10 oz, so you can enjoy as many sours as your acid reflux can tolerate.
This week long event has been thoughtfully compiled and thoroughly researched by Gabe, Kyle and Justin.
BYOT (Bring Your Own Tums)

As a preview to this event, we will be hosting a meet and greet with Adam Avery, from Avery Brewing Company on Thursday August 20th at 6pm. Adam will be bringing 8 (or so) beers from the brewery, some sour, some not. Please come up and have a pint with Adam.

I was REALLY stoked about Moonlight Sourpuss as I had it two years ago when Liars Club (RIP) moved out to BFE. One of hte greatest sours I've ever had.

Buuut, Gabe told me last night it was exploding about a year ago, so he has no idea how it's gonna be. :(

Did you go yesterday? I was actually there from 8 to 10 or so. I've met so few people from this site I'll have to make an effort to get out there sometime when you (or anyone else in the LA area on this site) is going to be there.

By the way, the Amalgamator is awesome. Thought the new dubbel was a bit too bubble gum-y but the Amalgamator, awesome.

I was there early, around 4.  I might have to go give Amalgamator a try today.

These guys are killing it. Was there a couple weeks ago and had 3 fantastic IPAs. And the food is always phenomenal.
