Had Dupont Avec les bon Voeux last week and it was awesome.
Hopefully there will be some other seasonals at the new Frisco when I go on Thursday.

It's just down the street 1/4 mile or so from the old location.  Google it for the address.

Edit: And let me know if/when you'll be around.  We're spending giftmas at home this year.

Had Dupont Avec les bon Voeux last week and it was awesome.

Ripped through two 750s of this last night.

Still don't really see the appeal. Kind of dry, weedy, mildly bitter, some pleasing nuttiness in the finish.

Well concealed alcohol. Didn't even detect it was 9.5% ABV until I was studying the bottle afterward.

Scaldis Noel on-deck for tonight.

I get a good amount of brightly ripe tropical-fruit sweetness too (along the lines of mango, papaya, etc.).  Definitely my favorite saison :pickle:

I've found that the Avec Bon is inconsistent int he bottle. Sometimes i get an astringent bitterness and grassiness then other times i get a fruity, spicy, slightly bitter one.
Highly prefer the later...definitely try another bottle.

Avec Les Bons Voeux De La Brasserie Dupont.

Great beer; especially since it avoids the "spiced-strong-brown-beer" formula that too many Belgian breweries lean on.   ;D

When this beer is on there's not much better as far as Saisons. Unfortunately, I've had bottles that had a soapy bitterness that were borderline drainpours.

I'm starting to like Stille Nacht the best.  Think that's the Belgian Christmas beer for me.  Used to like the Gouden Carolus the most, but the more and more Stille Nacht I have, the more it separates itself.

St Bernardus Christmas  :excited:

My first of the season

So damn good. I just had my first Scaldis Noel of the season on draft during a Christmas party Friday. Fantastic stuff.

Avec Les Bons Voeux De La Brasserie Dupont.

Great beer; especially since it avoids the "spiced-strong-brown-beer" formula that too many Belgian breweries lean on.   ;D

This still gets my vote, but De Ranke Pere Noel is still a great damn beer.  :ale:

Gouden Carolus Noel is fantastic, too. Love the licorice/aniseed spiciness from their yeast strain.

It's the most wonderful time of the year  :excited:

Drank a St. Feuillien Speciale (Known as Cuvee de Noel in Belgium) and it was AWESOME.

Bring on the Christmas Belgian beers

St Feuillien won our blind Xmas beer tasting a couple years ago.  Its spectacular.

My new local liquor store carries all sorts of Belgian Xmas beers I've never seen before, its going to be a messy two months.
Should we take a cab home, Jesus?
Shit man, we can hoof it from here.
I know you can walk on water...
But can you walk on this much beer?

Fine.  Never seen it before so had to get it.

Not special and not "xmasy".  Straight forward Belgian strong dark.  Would't buy again

I just had the 2013, enjoyed it. Over-priced, though, imo.

I used to like De Regenboog Kerst, but haven't seen it for a few years. I think that brewery had some QC issues possibly at one point.

This the season to fire up this thread.  We are decking the halls tomorrow, so the tradition is to drink 10% Belgian Christmas beers while we do it. Mainstreamers for tomorrow.  Corsendonk, St Bernardus and Delerium Noel.
