New thumbprint is Saison
http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/index.cfm/beers/OurBeers/Beer/saison

The Saison hasn't shown up here  - is this still out on the shelves in other places?
There was a bunch at woodmans east last weekend.

bought some at Ridgeview right before vacation.  maybe 2 weeks ago?

A bit surprised by the OEP. It tasted like sour and stale mixed nuts. Just bad IMO.

Agreed.  My complaint with it was that it was done as an unplugged beer and was charged at 10 bucks a 4-pack.  I'd pay the 8 bucks a 6/28 a case on that any day, but the 50+ a case didn't make sense to me.

Madison’s Great Taste is coming up and we promised a new R and D release in it’s honor. Announcing the latest R and D a Sour Brown Ale. 150 cases have been spontaneously fermenting for over two years in oak with a final finish carbonation in the bottle. This beer is funky and sour. 50 cases will be released Thursday Aug 9 at 1:00, fifty more 10:00 Saturday morning and the last fifty cases will be released Sunday morning at 10:00. Two bottle limit per person. 8.00 per bottle.

Big events for New Glarus Brewing's Deb Carey: sitting with first lady, brewery expansion

"
"I just really feel very overwhelmed. It's hard to get my head around," Carey said of the invitation she received Friday from the White House. "I just consider it a huge, huge honor. I'm going to try really hard not to fall in my heels."

Carey, who is more accustomed to blue jeans, said she will wear the black dress she wore to her daughter's high school graduation in 2001 and a jacket she bought this past weekend at an antique store in Mount Horeb. The shoes were purchased — on sale — at Cornblooms in the Hilldale Shopping Center.

Assuming a beer is $5, $1 a pound for rhubarb sounds pretty low.

Looks like the cherry harvest will allow Belgian Red to return this fall. Raspberry Tart, production of which was on hold, will as well.

Later this summer, an expansion to the brewery where Carey and his wife, Deb, founded New Glarus Brewing Co. 20 years ago will begin. When it’s done, large-scale production work can begin on a series of sour beers that so far have been released only in tiny, closely held batches.
