   Ah, Tip Top: a beer blogger after my heart. Barleywine? Or as some type it: Barley Wine? Or as the feds "prefer" Barleywine- STYLE... love it.

   I prefer when I'm judging, or even just sampling, to put my hand over the glass and swirl it first to get all the ester goodness. I know: not the official way, but I find they disappear far too fast in some ales and especially lagers. Aroma contributes more to taste than many realize.

Aroma ends up being a lot of what you taste.  It's huge imo.
