I'm heading to Groveland Tap for Firkin Saturday around 2pm. Firkins from Surly, Summit (really hoppy dry hopped EPA with Amarillo from Oregon), Bell's, Rush River, Celebration from Paulaner, and a fass from Schell's.

Then around 5pm we're heading to Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter for Oktoberfest. Gotta like a traditional German place with horse parking out front. It would appear in one of the photos that they are having people say the Pledge of Allegiance. Kinda strange but we'll see. Gonna get a 20th anniversary mug.

Aaaaaaaw. Just goto your local bar. I went to Barley John's last night and hung out with a bunch of the regulars. Nothing like a hoppy red ale around an outside fire in the fall. I'm sure you can find someplace to go and drink. There are always new people to meet.

There's gotta be somewhere dark and damp where you can hang your head as you sip from an unwashed glass of Miller 64 while killing your sorrows and heart with a grease soaked Chicago-style pizza.

Tonight I'll be drinking at at wedding. Most likely swill. Although I'm thinking about cracking a FFF Moloko Plus right now.

Tomorrow I'll be meeting up with 'hack (NG you want to head downtown?). Looking like Piece and/or Maproom. Really want to hit GI Clybourn too.

Now that sounds like a nice plan. GI Clybourn is sadly the only place I've really been in Chicago (well since I've been old enough to drink legally). I need to plan a Chicago trip me thinks. Maybe this winter if some of the Chicago guys would be around.

In Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula on Indian Summer type weekend. Drinking in the woods, drinking on the lake, drinking on the river, drinking at the campfire. There's not a bad place to drink up here

Went to Stub and Herbs for a Big Sky sampling they had going on. Usually the brewer stands up at the front of the room and talks about the beers. There wasn't really any turnout so I sat with Corey (one of the local distributor guys) and others from the distributor, the brewer for Big Sky and John, the bar manager at Stub and Herbs and drank all night. Lots of fun. They broke out some great stuff they had brought too. Sounds like John is gonna have a killer lineup for the pre-ABR party on Thursday. Then we headed over to Town Hall for a couple beers. Great night.

Sweet. Sounds like they're gonna have some cool stuff. Corey and those guys will be dropping off more stuff for them on Friday in preparation for us on Saturday after ABR. Hop Whore tapping there (and 2 other bars) tonight.

I'm thinking about going to Hamilton's Tavern (for the first time actually)...they have a DIPA brewed by Green Flash called Palate Wrecker...it was brewered for Hamilton's 2nd Anniversary.

It's raining today so no bike ride after work. I think I might head down to Town Hall again tonight and try to win Mayor of the Month. First Tuesday of every month you get a ticket (up to 3) for every beer you have from 5pm-6pm. Then they draw to see who wins. Winner gets free beer all month. I don't know if I could beat JD who was mayor last month (went every single day and consumed over 10 gallons worth of beer) but free beer during anniversary month with all the new brews coming out wouldn't be a bad thing (other then I'll be outta town 1/2 of anniversary week).

I missed being Mayor by 1 number. Had I ordered my 2nd beer 10 seconds earlier it would have been free beer for a month. Still had a great time and it was good seeing lots of friends.

Went to Applebees for some martinis. Then Gameworks for $10 all you can play (big video game bar like Dave & Busters) and $2 beers. Ended at MacKenzie's with some Hop Whore and Coffee Bender. Then White Castle. Why did we go there again?

only a 13 hour day - drinking bourbon county all day long - had to do some of those triangle taste panels too... gods.
