Wow, check out the aged brews they're offering on tap Jul 9-15:

Quote
2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 Stone Imperial Russian Stout
2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine
2005 & 2006 Double Bastard Ale
Stone 10th Anniversary IPA
Double Dry Hopped Stone 10th Anniversary IPA
...and more assorted specialty brews!

How often does one get the opportunity to take part in a vertical tasting like that?

...and the fact that they have a FREE brewing school class.

Stone's 11th Anniversary Ale is coming out in about a month (August 27th).

No word yet on what style of beer it is.

Stone 11th Anniversary Ale this year will be another IPA.  :pickle:

Seems as though they're hinting it's gonna be a dark one too.

Is there a way to see a directory of beers like that?  And if so, can anyone sign up or do they even have to?

this Dark IPA was pretty tasty i thought

"thanks to brewdlyhooked13 (i think, mighta been FtownThrowDown, sorry guys) for the growler at DL Day!

what an interesting beer. dark ruby/brown beer with a nice-sized khaki head. retained its carbonation nicely over the last week.

it has an initial strongish fruit smell.. but not a ton of hops. i'd call this a hopped brown. a first for me. but a very interesting combination. the flavor really rushes up front and fades quickly.. the creamy mouthfeel that is evident up front thins out fast.

i want to say it's a bit heavy on the malt.. but i think that's the design of the beer. it's a really nice blend of the two flavors and would make a really nice session beer if not for the 7% ABV.

mostly what i'm getting is nutty brown with a quickly fading hop smell and taste.

another shitty review. but i'm crunched for time as the misses is bugging me to watch a movie.

definitely a beer i'd drink again. recommended."

STONE WINTER STORM

SUNDAY, JANUARY 27th - SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2nd
We're having the Stone Winter Storm again at the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens with an avalanche of 32 DIFFERENT STONE BEERS ON TAP AT THE SAME TIME! You heard right, 32 DIFFERENT STONE BEERS ON TAP AT THE SAME TIME! That isn’t even mentioning what Stone bottled beers we're pulling from our archive as well. All of these beers will go on tap the moment we open at on Sunday, January 27th and will remain on until Saturday, February 2nd (or until each beer is gone). The warehouse crew is pulling some great selections and the brew crew has a few surprises planned as well, you'll just have to wait to find out more!

Our Anniversary Ale this year stems from 2 pilot beers that were brewed by members of Team Stone. The first was Jeremy Moynier's incredibly delicious Oatmeal Stout, and the second was Jake Ratzke's amazing homebrewed Imperial Stout that had authentic Oaxacan chocolate added to the boil. We loved both beers so much that we decided to combine the recipes to make this year's Anniversary offering: Stone 12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.

This beer pours deep black with a rich brown head of foam. The aroma is dominated by roast malt and cocoa. Upon tasting, the cocoa (we used unsweetened, unprocessed cacao sourced through our friends at Chuao Chocolatier) really comes through with a deep chocolate flavor and a long lasting bitter finish. The roasted grains used add coffee and licorice accents. It is a thick beer, but not sweet, with the addition of oatmeal in the mash providing a rich, silky mouthfeel that adds to the creamy texture.

Alcohol is 9.2% v/v
