A pleasant discovery in my city...
« on: November 02, 2021, 03:31:25 PM »
Hi. I want to tell you about how I discovered Trappist beer.

Fondi is the town where I live, it is located in Italy, and here since 1993 there is a pub, the pub Knulp,  that offers a great selection of Trappist and craft beers. I started to appreciate the beer thanks to the owners who told me about this special beer.

This beer is brewed by or under the direct supervision of monks within a Benedictine abbey.
The name comes from La Trappe, an abbey in Normandy where it all began. Trappist monks work with their hands, raising money for the care of the monastery and those who live there. Between the cultivated fields and the livestock, the Trappist monks also produce beer. There are 170 Trappist monasteries in the world and only 11 of them produce beer. And what a glorious beer it is!
