Ice Cider

(1/1)

Any other fans of ice cider on TBS?

Eden seems to be the most common nowadays. Neige is probably relatively well distributed as well.  Otherwise, a bit difficult to find stuff and definitely pricey.

Is this like ice wine where they let the fruit freeze before harvesting?  Or ice distilled?

Almost exclusively the freezing happens before fermenting. It can be done with frozen apples or freezing the pressed cider. I am not sure how often the former is done compared to the latter. I imagine that waiting for apples to freeze is less common since there is much more variation.

My buddy kept a 200ml bottle that we bought in Montreal about a decade ago. We cracked it last night. Still awesome stuff. This one is called Verger Lacroix Givre de St Joseph.
