Most importantly, where is the TBS base of operations? Or will there be one?

Did all 3 of those last year, Lucille was crowded and there was amplified live music in the afternoon, which was drawing a crowd outside as well. Didn’t venture upstairs, which was a mezzanine dining area.

Is it too much to ask to find a fairly laid back place with a decent taplist?

It's fun to run around and deal with the madness for a couple hours, but what I really want to do is relax and hang out with all you great folks*.

Mint Mark and Robin Room are on my to do list. Gib’s was really solid the last couple years.
Would like to get back to Forequarter and Caribou too. My MO is to avoid all crowds this year.

Avoiding crowds and embracing TBS time sounds great to me. Nick doesn't have any dental school friends coming this year and I'm still preggo, so it'll be more low-key for us than the last few years. The Mason is a great plan!

Awesome, Mason it is.  And I definitely want to hit up La Tigre at some point as well.

Is this what we are calling Mork and Kathleen now?

How does 8pm work? Gives everyone a chance to grab dinner and check out other pre-parties first.

Haven’t heard much about Rockhound, mostly lukewarm to mediocre impressions. Funk Factory is also a mile or so down and off Park St.

I saw that sign :dude:

Most importantly, where is the TBS base of operations? Or will there be one?

This is just a thought, but we could avoid crowds even more and do a bottle share in our cohousing Common House, which is about 5 blocks from the Mason (four doors down from our house). Depending on crowd size, we could also just do it at our house, but the Common House is spacious so we'd probably start out there. We're good with going to the Mason if people would prefer that, but we thought we'd throw this out there as an alternative plan. As a bonus, you'd probably get to meet a few of the elderly hippies we live with. Thoughts?

We've been to Rockhound a number of times. The beer is so so and the food is usually pretty good but also sometimes oddly underseasoned. It's not a must-do by any means, but it's a fine place to have dinner and will likely not be busy.

That's a cool idea, Jess! :excited:

I'd still like to hit the Mason at some point, which would be pretty easy to do beforehand.
Last year I had to drag my cousin out of there, as he was very enamored with their whiskey list... :deadbanana:
It would be a good reason to just stop for one drink then head over.
We'd probably return to the hotel first to grab sharing beer, then head to Mason and the Common House.

Really like this idea.  Some of the most fun at the campsite was sharing brews, and I can grab a bunch of interesting stuff.
