Feels like I missed the wet-hop boat again this year. There were a few commercial ones around but I only had a couple.
My favorite thing was throwing a handful of cascades in a Hamms, and muddling them. Tasted like a hazy hop bomb, lol.

Haven't encountered any Born Yesterday yet...

 :sadbanana:

This is everywhere out here.  Still stacks of it at the binny's around me.
Right, I just haven't gone looking for it. :bag:
My main haunts are Beer Temple and Target. Guess it's time to hit the shady corner store*...

Picked up a sixer of Celebration last weekend and didn't like it.

Spices?  It's an IPA.

Got some Born Yesterday at WFM. :rockzo:
They also had Can Music from Marz, which I picked up due to good reviews. Hoping it's good. :$:

I have been sick for two weeks but drank some Celebration.  A breath of old school fresh air.  It has a full body and a finish.  In fact, when I popped one my brain took me back to 2005.  Like I was drinking Celebration for the first time.   A good beer that is a complete beer.  So different from hazies.

I feel the same way.  I love stumbling upon old style IPA recipes that sweep me back to the late 90’s.
Should we take a cab home, Jesus?
Shit man, we can hoof it from here.
I know you can walk on water...
But can you walk on this much beer?

You'd like Born Yesterday then, definitely old school. It just tasted like caramel malt to me. Is 6-7 weeks "too old" for a wet hopped APA?
I think i'm done with Lagunitas in general, not really a fan. PS: GET WELL SOON

Half Acre Gummy Chunk

Great stuff, much more intense than your average wet-hopped IPA. Nice start to the season.

WOOT!
Also, in case anyone wondered about my absence her last year during the wet season, I started it by OD'ing at the Hood River event devoted to wet hop beers... After that, it was all downhill...
So I suppose I better start looking this year!

Hopewell's got one that sounds worth a try:

Harvest Pils
FRESH HOP PILS 5.6% ABV
A fresh hop Pils brewed with Michigan-grown Crystal hops that were picked that day. Subtly floral and earthy with a crisp, clean finish.

This was pretty meh, no fresh hop aroma/flavor, just bitterness. Gummy Chunk still the local reigning champeen of wet hop season.

Local scene seems pretty nonexistent, the Half Acre only lasted a week or so.

Who's Whycome?

I just buy stuff other than Lagunitas. Never been a big fan of the ownership.

Wasn't aware of this one. Brian Hunt is a smart and talented brewer, wonder if out of state distro will ever happen.

Good stuff. 4 fat Columbus cones in a couple Dovetail Lagers and a Pilsner. Still a little vegetal, but got some nice added fruitiness and resiny bitterness.

Why not?

The work and money it costs just don't make sense.  It also hasn't sold particularly well of late.

Damn. Slim pickins around here too, going to hit up a farm brewery later that has one. Likely their first attempt so no expectations.
