I looked and there wasn't a thread celebrating wet hop or harvest ales yet, so here we go!

I know its kinda late in the season, but I live in frikkin' Alabama, we're behind on everything. But we did get Lagunitas Born Yesterday the same week it was packaged, and I gotta say I'm in love. Can't stop drinking it, and the notion that one of the bigger craft breweries is spreading the wet hopped love far and wide like that makes me forgive any notion they may be a so called "sellout."

Still waiting on Founders Harvest around here, not even sure we're getting it at this point, I know its been out a while.

Couple of our locals have made decent efforts to produce wet hopped beers, pretty thrilled with that. Straight to Ale has Hopsoon... it was OK last year, much better this year, maybe they've learned a thing or two.

So what are some other wet hopped things people are enjoying this year? I really miss Surly Wet, haven't had it fresh in several years now... anybody wanna hook me up?

Right there with you, this year's is especially good.

Thinking i'll try to grab a 5th sixer this weekend, if I can find it.

Locally, both Half Acre and Haymarket did a wet-hop Pils with Zuper Saazer, Haymarket's was far smoother and sessionable.
Revolution does Penguin Hops, which isn't truly wet-hopped but "fresh-hopped" (some/most are dried). Same with Lake Effect 45th Ward. Wish more local brewers would do this, there are hop farms in WI & MI that can overnight pretty easily.

Recently I helped brew a wet hop harvest ale with a couple friends, and it turned out well this year. Much less vegetal, good level of bitterness, and the nice honeydew melon flavor it had last year without the vegetal qualities. Should be all carbed up this weekend

Finish my sixer of Born Yesterday too quickly. It's scarce around here.

There's a crapton of Founders Harvest, but it's just ok.

Indian Ladder did a wet hop beer with Threes Brewing out of Brooklyn this year. It was like the best wet hopped ESB you could ever imagine. There and gone in days.

Tried another local breweries' wet hop beer today, it sucked. (Corridor)

I hear ya. The name of the orchard where the brewery is located is from the trail of the same name, on the escarpment behind the orchard's property, and both date back over 100 years.

Founders was pretty good, more citric than I remember in the past. Wet's up next

Born Yesterday is good this year, but not amazing like it was last year. Still really drinkable

Wet hops seem to be pretty variable, and i'm not sure if they use the same ones year to year.

Last years was good but wasn't as good as the first couple years, imho. Might try it on tap first before committing to a 12 pack.

Yeah, the 2016 version was head and shoulders better than all of the other years. Last year was still worth a sixer to me.

Feels like I missed the wet-hop boat again this year. There were a few commercial ones around but I only had a couple.
My favorite thing was throwing a handful of cascades in a Hamms, and muddling them. Tasted like a hazy hop bomb, lol.

Haven't encountered any Born Yesterday yet...
