I-95, from Baltimore to Hartford
« on: April 11, 2014, 10:48:28 AM »
Any good beer stops/breweries/brewpubs along this stretch of desolate wasteland?

Ideally, I'd like to pick up a couple of growlers for the TBS Fest along the way, but I really don't know this area at all.  I'll hit up the Evil Place if I have to, but figured I'd ask around here first.

I ended up drinking 9 times my body weight in beer, broke three glasses over my head, 7 over others, ordered up 17 hookers for a little afterparty, held a cabbie hostage while running his cab through the Madison capitol doors, and I grabbed gator's ass.

Does Stateline still fill growlers?

As a matter of fact, I think they do!

YES

Pick up Chief and Benz while you are at it.

Will these be on tap?

It looks like Peekskill will add about 45 minutes to the drive, but will avoid a significant section of toll roads (unless there are also tolls on the route from Hackensack to Peekskill.

Thanks!

Peekskill Brewingis a great stop. Excellent beer (usually 7-10 varying styles on draft) and a good food menu as well.

Ithaca is releasing a new sour golden ale, Luminous, I think this is their first sour since Chief has left. Interested to see how the quality has changed.

It's worth the extra 45 for sure. Plus I think it gets you to not go over the GW Bridge.

Could also check out Rushing Duck, some of their beers have been solid.  Heading through NJ, Carton would be a detour over to the coast but may well be worth it.

Visiting Rushing Duck would be very worthwhile.  Was there in January, and everything I had was outstanding.  Plus that gets you a little further north so you can use the Bear Mtn bridge, toll is only $1.50.

Another good stop is Deciccos if you drive up the Hudson on the East side.

DeCiccos market, not too very far away from Captain Lawrence in Ardsley?

Google says it would only add about a half hour.   :ale:

In all honesty, I probably won't know until we're on the road.  I want to just sit back and enjoy the time/drive, so we're not going to try to stick to a crazy schedule.  The only thing I need to do on Thursday is to get there with enough light to set up my tent.
