Three Floyds Brewpub
Just released for carry out only, Barrel Aged Alpha Klaus with Raspberries. Less that 150 bottles were made so it is extremely rare. Limit of 1 per person and $35 a bottle. Come swing by the pub and grab a bottle while we still have it.

One of the best parts of the holidays is getting surprised with welcome news.  This year our holiday surprise is the December release of Rye Da’ Tiger due to the overwhelming support it got when we first brewed it. From this year on, the “Tiger” will replace Black Sun Stout as the December release.  This, however, does not mean that Black Sun is gone. We will continue to brew it periodically so it will be available at different times throughout the year for all of us that love it.

As always thank you for your continued support of Three Floyds and craft beer. Cheers, and happy holidays,

FFF

$30 for a ticket this year? $30 to get in the gate so you can spend $8 a beer, $10 for a sausage, and at least $15 for a bottle of DL?

Well, at least they're printing the buyer's name on the ticket. I understand they are trying to fight scalpers, but the line at the gate already moves at a snail's pace. Now they're going to add name matching? Yikes.

If anybody gets tickets let me know. I will get you into the giant breakfast we have on DLD. Massive quantities of bacon, sausage, ham, eggs, biscuits & gravy, hash browned potatoes etc...Zombie Dust Mimosas too.

I didn't try to get tickets this year, but it looks like the same insanity as usual. The 3F facebook page is filled with people who got shut out complaining and others telling them to quit whining. I'm not sure which is more annoying.

It's really too bad that they refuse to scale the event to meet demand. I realize their business park has limitations and any other option will have its own issues, but good grief.

Not nearly as many people would pay to drink beer in a parking lot in Indiana if everyone could get in.  It is the VIPness that keeps this event/beer brand surviving. Only way to take it up a level is for the 3F to become celibate and sell 1 case a day in unmarked bottles.

Major expansion brewing at Three Floyds

February 01, 2014 5:05 pm  •  Jim Masters Times CorrespondentMUNSTER | With the help of a property tax abatement, Three Floyds Brewing could nearly double in size.

The acquisition of property immediately north of Three Floyds, 9750 Parkway, would enable the business to expand from a current 30,000 square feet to 56,000 square feet in a $7.5 million project.

The addition calls for a new bottling and packaging line, warehouse and basement storage areas, a tasting room/carryout counter, an exercise room for employees and maintenance room.

In addition, Three Floyds would add a distillery to produce a variety of spirits, such as high-end whiskeys.

Chris Boggess, head brewer at Three Floyds, said a tax abatement from Munster is contingent on the expansion plans, which would improve the brewery’s ability to expand its product line and serve its customer base.

Three Floyds is seeking from the town a five-year abatement on a graduated scale for the expanded facilities and equipment. There appears to be a good chance the brewery will get it.

“Munster is world famous for Three Floyds,” said Council President John Reed, R-1st. “It’s the kind of business you want to help any way you can.”

Town Manager John DeGiulio said, “The bottling operating will bring in a considerable amount of personal property tax. Giving the abatement helps them because it’s not really money out of our pockets.”

Councilman Joseph Simonetto, R-3rd, asked for the exact amount of the abatement prior to a March 10 public hearing on the matter.

If the tax abatement is approved, Boggess expects to break ground on the expansion this summer. He said the project would include some landscaping enhancements and public art.

I think this is long overdue.  At a minimum make the brewpub larger to accommodate more people.  Making more beer and increasing distro would be nice, but I respect their cash only, not aggressively taking on more market.

Be nice if there was a Stone-like beer patio and garden area there.

Probably room here for another topic, but I respect what 3F has done in regard to pricing. It seems like a lot of breweries undervalue their special releases. You can only pick two between price, rarity and how much a pain in the ass it is to get.

Why are breweries expected to put out special releases that are subsidized by their bread and butter lineup to please an audience who may not even buy any of the cheap beers? I can pick up sixers and bombers of their delicious "standard" beers for $10 a pop down in Madison, or I can visit the brewery and pick up a barrel aged beer that I otherwise wouldn't get to try for $40. What's wrong with that? Most of the people complaining wouldn't be happy if it were $25 a bottle.

I agree with you because I don't buy the $40 bottles.  The few I've had weren't very good.

I can only imagine what a bottle of FFF whiskey will cost :killmenow:

But that doesn't change the fact that they sell out nearly instantly.  They'd sell at $50 or $75.

I ended up drinking 9 times my body weight in beer, broke three glasses over my head, 7 over others, ordered up 17 hookers for a little afterparty, held a cabbie hostage while running his cab through the Madison capitol doors, and I grabbed gator's ass.
