Took 9 ####ing tries but I got my tickets.  Really enjoying that $4.00 shipping charge too!

I keep getting hit with a $20 shipping fee!

Now $40!!!

Sounds like this is a widespread problem at the moment...

+1

They better get it all squared away or there will be hell to pay.

I got my tickets but I'm just beyond pissed at what a clusterf*ck it has been. :hot: :hot: :hot:

I'd let it cool down a bit before you do.  There are undoubtedly a number of people who got screwed by the server errors.

Thank you drive to Canuckistania. Sold oot by the time I checked into the hotel. Oh well, I had a ball last year regardless if I got the damn beer or not. Will do the same this year.

That's the attitude I'm taking (helps that I don't like DL too :D ).  The event outshines the beer itself by a long shot.

Same here.  Had to refresh a couple times but it was no trouble for me.

Even if you don't like DL, wouldn't it be worth it to grab your bottles just for trade bait?  That is, if you're planning on attending the event anyway.

huh... have you tried trading it lately?  nobody wants it.  I took bottles to the west coast 3 times last year and at at least 6 or so tasting, people turned their noses up at it.

But for some unknown reason, I guess I'll go buy more  :bottle:

Haters is all that be.

I think people are just realizing that beer is ultra hype-inflated and not worth the price or what most people want for it in a trade.

I dug the 09 fresh, but had to choke down the 09 I drank a couple of weeks ago.  Thinking back, I wonder how much hype played into my initial impressions, and maybe it was kind of lame from the start

That's odd.  I mean I know it doesn't go for what it used to but I've had no problem trading mine.  So much so that I end up trading more than I want to and only end up with a few to cellar.  Really kicking myself for trading so much of the '08.  Only 1 bottle left :(

But what I meant was, if you're going anyway and have the chance to grab some, why not?  I know you were raving about the El Toro stuff.... why not pick up some DL and use that as trade bait to get the trade quick without any hassle at all.  Not that trading for the El Toro was hard(I have no idea) but I'm sure if you offered a DL for some tasty local or regional beers that you want to try that it'll be easier to find a trade than trading $15 of your random locals/regionals.  Just seems like it would make trading a little easier if you had a brewery only release(even if the bottle limit is huge now) compared to randoms from your area since you'll be doing $4$ anyway.  I'm not saying, I'm just saying

I guess everyone has their opinion....I think the stuff is pretty darn good anyhow and the Vanilla Bean DL that I'll get on DL day is worth the trip alone. Mixing that with some CBS and I'v got my own little beer-nirvana blend.  :banned:
Got my tickets yesterday and looking forward to the fun on the 24th....

I was just being a little funny, I actually don't go to these things for trade bait, I go for beers that I WANT TO DRINK.
Maybe I go to too many of them, but when you live in Alabama, you gotta do something.  It just amuses me that people think about traveling to an event for a beer just because it is good trade bait.  It might look like thats what I'm doing, and I do trade the stuff from time to time, but I only put the effort forth if its something I really like.

El Toro stuff?  must be confusing me with someone else.

I'm pretty sure he was replying to Rockzo the coked up clown instead of at you.

But alas, he didn't reply to me
Yep, I meant to reply to Rockzo in the second paragraph... Jedi was the first.  I think my head is still in vacation mode  :P .  Not calling trying to call Rockzo out or saying he's wrong.  It just seems like it'd be worth it for Rockzo to grab the bottles just to trade... since you'll be there anyway and since you'll be matching $4$ anyway.  I got the tickets pretty easily but it seems like I got lucky on that part.  Either way, d0b, I challenge you to a shotgun of Ten Fidy at DLD   :banned: :pickle:

And to Jedi.  I don't go to a release just for the trade bait, but I usually do end up trading a portion of it to obtain some of the goodies that I want from around the country and that's usually the only way to get them.  Hell, I just like the party... the beers you get are more of a bonus than anything.  And no one can tell you that you go to too many of them.  It's your hobby and you love to do it and you're retardedly generous along the way  ;D

I ordered mine and it took literally like 3 minutes. I was Johnny on the spot I suppose, and I type pretty fast.

This drives me nuts... it's as if they copied and pasted from last year.

So with all of that in mind, please don’t forget that we are a comparatively tiny brewery trying to plan a kick ass time for a whole bunch of people, and we don’t even know how many people are going to show up.

Well, let's see... every year this event grows and grows and grows while the craft beer limited-release scene grows and grows and grows.  I'm assuming someone there can make an educated guess.

They are incompetent in every aspect of running a brewery except actually making the beer...so at least they got that going for them I guess
