Badger State Brewing Co. has opened its doors for business at 990 Tony Canadeo Run in Green Bay.

The business was founded earlier this year by Green Bay natives Andrew Fabry, Michael Servi and Sam Yanda.

The company said it plans to initially sell and distribute two flagship beers, Walloon Witbier and Bunyan Badger Brown Ale. Growler sales are available on-site.

Kay Distributing will handle distribution, Badger State said in a news release.

Brewery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. It can be reached at (920) 634-5687 and found online at badgerstatebrewing.com.

Chocolaty and roasty, huh? We went through a 1/6-barrel at work a few weeks back.
Happy Thanksgiving, man.

Picked up cans of the Green Chop IPA on Sunday.  Meh.  Drinkable, but I didn't really care for the particular blend of hops in this beer.

Tried the Witbier this weekend, and liked that one a lot better than their IPA

only tried the Wit once but didn't think it was all that great at the time.  might be time to re-visit.

I wouldn't say it was great - but better than the IPA.

ISOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote
No celebration of Brett Favre’s storied career with the Green Bay Packers would be complete without a beer.

Favre joins the Packers Hall of Fame on Saturday, and Badger State Brewing Co. is using the occasion to announce it will craft a limited edition ale to celebrate Favre’s career and his return to the Packers family.

Badger State President Andrew Fabry and Brewmaster Sam Yanda continue to craft the recipe, but Fabry said the beer will fete No. 4 with a beer that features four kinds of hops and four kinds of malt. He said the Green Bay brewery is exploring a few unique ingredients apropos of Favre’s roots and on-field exploits, but no decisions have been made.

“We’re going to use Warrior hops as the dominant hop,” Fabry said. “We felt it fits the occasion.”

PACKERS NEWS
Packers Hall of Fame set to honor Brett Favre

The unnamed beer will be released about a week before Favre returns to Lambeau Field on Thanksgiving Day to see his name added to the stadium’s facade.

Fabry said Badger State will only produce seven to 10 barrels of the beer, enough to produce a few hundred 25-ounce commemorative bottles and a few quarter barrels for its tap room and select other bars and restaurants in the region.

“It’s perfect timing with the Hall of Fame induction and then releasing it before the Thanksgiving game,” Fabry said. “We’ll have a lot of friends and family in town as will everyone else. We hope it will be passed around Thanksgiving tables, tailgates and our tap room here.”

PRESS GAZETTE MEDIA
Badger State Brewing keeps focus close to home

Badger State opened in 2013 and has produced a handful of collaboration beers and limited edition brews. Fabry said the staff is taking the chance to honor Favre, albeit in beer form, very seriously.

“Brett brought winning football back to Green Bay along with many other great players,” Fabry said. “I went to middle school with his daughter, Brittany. It’s one of those Green Bay things. And it was always exciting when he had the ball.”

It IS a shot of me holding the bottle. We kept my hand and added a different dude behind.

Hell, I want the bottle to get the attention. My fabulous handsomeness would distract big time.

That's crazy that they sold out already! How was it?

Darn tasty beer. Subtle heat makes it drinkable.
The brewery is taking reserve orders for the second batch of bottles to be released on Thanksgiving, before the big game. Yet, the bottles can be picked up any time thereafter.
Cheers!
