Might as well fire up a thread, looking for any tips on places and activities... first time spending a couple days up yonder.
Looking for any "off the beaten path" stuff, weird, kitschy, beer-soaked,

etc. ...anything for us FIB's to gawk at.
Parks, nature sanctuaries, cheesemakers

, roadfood shacks, whatever.
Here's the short list so far:
Rowland's Calumet - Chilton
Wild Tomato, Gibraltar, Cookery, Oilerie, Greenwood Supper Club,
Peninsula State Park - Fish Creek (staying near here)
Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant - Sister Bay (goats on the roof)
Main St. Market (and probably Shipwrecked) - Egg Harbor
Door Co. Brewing Co. (draft)
Mink River Estuary, Ellison Bay area, Newport State Park
Marchant's, Belgian Bar - Brussels
Bearcats - Algoma (smokehouse)
Sir James Pub - Port Washington
Silver Creek - Cedarburg - maybe, if it's past 5pm

Does anyone remember the story DaPeculierDane/Eric told on BA long ago, about a roadside "Belgian Bar" in Brussels/Namur?
Said the place felt straight out of Misery, as if an axe murderer was going to jump from the shadows at any moment. Also they had Chimay and Belgian chocolate.
Maybe it's still there?
A Belgian bar near ..... nothing
I think this picture sums up the feel of Namur best. Its really a small farming and dairy community that works hard and is quite normal. The population is only a few hundred, but it maintains an interesting closeness to its roots. A true look at Belgian-America, if I'm coining the phrase.
