Off the Shelf BIF
« on: June 29, 2013, 12:13:12 AM »
Anyone up for a BIF?  Seems like forever since one has happened here.  I'm thinking one rule, only stuff you can go buy on the shelf/in a brewpub/etc.  Nothing from the cellar.  With all the new breweries, I think we could make people quite happy.  Let's say 144oz.

Likes/Dislikes

I like everything, especially variety. I prefer beers not available in the Southeast, so I can try something new.

Likes/Dislikes: pretty much anything except pumpkin/fruit-based beers; would put citrusy/juicy hoppys and saisons at the top of the list. Not a huge fan of big roasty flavors or smoky brews but I do occasionally break them out so if they're good, local and under the radar I'm all about 'em. Big fan of local glassware, preferrably tulip/globe/snifter types (too many shaker pints sitting around now).

Fat guy T-shirt size (XXL) if we're swaggin' like that.

Likes- IPA, IIPA, IIIPA, Barleywines, big Belgians, any local brews that the sender feels worthy

Dislikes- flavorless beer

Likes: IPA, DIPA, lambic, Flanders red, smoked beers, porters, saisons

Dislikes: American red, Amber ales, Belgian dubble, triple, strong dark

I will also be in Batavia from July 11 - July 21, so I won't be around to get a box of beers during that time.

this is my work address

Likes: IPA, APA, sours, seasonals, interesting locals, anything I can't readily get in San Diego area
Dislikes: ??

Likes: APA, IPA, IIPA, sours, barleywines, interesting locals, anything not available in San Diego area

Dislikes: smoked beers, overly sweet beers.

Been a while since I've participated in one of these. Looking forward to it.

Likes: hoppys, sours, fresh local wonders, boobs and cans.

Dislikes: boring takes on a style

I'm out of town all next week cambinping in MI, so don't ship to me off the bat.
Also, my work addy will be changing soon, so use my home address.

Likes: Pretty much anything I can't get easily in the Southeast. I like Ninkasi, Funkwerks, dipas, belgians, (Gluten free beers for the girlfriend), hell almost anything.

Dislikes: Skunked beer, oxygenated beer, and anything Ghost River out of memphis. Gross.

I like IPA, Pale Ales, Saisons, and Sours. I will drink whatever is sent to me though.

Likes - IPA, DIPA, Belgian styles, sours, barleywines.  Almost anything really.

Dislikes - Sugar bombs.  Not interested in overly sweet beer, no matter what the style.

I just want good beer.  Those trendy beers that never live up to the hype are worthless to me!

Not picky at all, will try most anything.  The boss lady likes stouts and porters that are NOT coffee enhanced.  I have kind of gotten interested again in heffes and other German style wheat beers, mainly those with good banana flavors, not a fan of the bubble gummy ones.  Been using those to break up the hoppy madness.  Love the hops, but hate most anything that is largely summit hops.

Not wild about smoked stuff, but willing to try if its not ashtray level smoke.  Not crazy about vinegary sours either

I'll play.  Portland goodies FTW.

Do any of you really want shelf-beer from Martin, TN?  I'd be happy to play as long as I can buy some stuff when I hit Chicago in a few weeks in anticipation of being in this.  I can get a few things in Paducah, but not sure I can fill out 144 ounces worthy of you folks.

All I'm going for is people not going with a bunch of cellar beer.  If you buy if off whatever shelf between now and when you send, it's all good.

certainly a world of difference from past times when I was in BIFs... It might actually be hard to narrow it down to 144 oz given what we've got now.

Buying too much on trips in my early days... I think some of these may even be from one of my first trips up that way which is more like 4-5 years ago... they got buried, and I've only recently dug my way back down to them

Sorry we had month end close this week at work and I didn't sign in. If I am not too late to stay in I prefer pale ales and IPA's with citrus hops, stouts, sours, saisons and pretty much anything barrel aged. Always interested in trying small brewery and brew pub beers not available to me in PA.
