Changes at the Brick Store
« on: May 15, 2013, 11:49:29 AM »
I know that those of us that are regulars in the Atlanta area beer groups already knew this, but I thought I would still post since a handful of TBS members have been to the Brick Store before as well.

Lee, the beer manager at Brick Store, is leaving.  I think he had a plan to go work as a rep for a brewer but that has not worked out for him just yet.  I have to imagine that he will get a gig sooner rather than later though.

This Saturday is a send-off party for him.  He picked 15 kegs to have on tap for a party, and so did his replacement, Timothy Ensor.  Here are the lists for the party.

Tim's List
the Bruery Humulus Lager
the Bruery Hottenroth
Bell's Roundhouse Imperial Rye
Westbrook Brett and No Mices
Ballast Point Durado
Nitro Deviant Dales
Twain's Changing of the Guard cask
Cidre Bouche in calvados barrels
Founders Doom
Allagash Old HLT
Green Flash Black IPA
Lost Abbey Angels Share
North Coast Barrel Aged Rasputin
Bells 2010 Expedition Stout
Left Hand Ambidextrous Step 2

Lee's List
New Glarus Raspberry Tart
Avery 20th Anniversary
Ballast Point Sculpin
Thirsty Dog Barrel Aged Siberian Night
Mazurt
Bear's Best India Rye Brown
Founders Nemesis 2010
Coast Milk Stout
Westbrook Weiss Weiss Baby
Bee Nectar Zombie Killer
Mother Earth WindowPane peaches
Dogfish Head Bitches Brew Batch 1
Green Flash Silva Stout
Allagash Fluxus 2010
Stone Espresso RIS

The Mazurt and Bear's Best are homebrews from local friends of mine.  Bear's Best is from my good friend Ben who is thehopdawg on TBS.

There will also be a glassware sale that I will be helping with.  I will keep my eye out for the Bell's glasses that everyone wants.  If they are available, I get first dibs so I will clean them out and pass them around.  No promises though.

Hopefully any future trips by TBS members to Atlanta will still allow for hanging out in the cellar and drinking, but it won't be the same without Lee running the show.

It's going to be weird without Lee in the future.

See you on Saturday, Donnie.

Sure thing.

Assuming I can score then you will be #4 on the list: Ed, Kevin, Dan, and you.  At least that seems to be the order I recall people asking about them following Gilly's pics.  My guess is they wont be available as part of the sale, but I will do what I can.

I was not sure if you were giving away that second one I told Tara to get or not.  That was why I did not mention it.  Since you let the cat out of the bag....

wow... since I've pretty much bagged TTfest, I was trying to figure out if it was a good weekend to come to ATL to get the ZD case D Rosen brought back for me...
Lee's party is about the best reason there could be for coming over.  What are the details?

Hook up Kevin and Dan first if you get any. It's not a huge deal for me, but fuck that Fred dude jumping in late to the train.

Not anything overly eventful.  Just shooting the shit with some great people, helping out with the glassware sale, enjoying some fantastic beers, and finding time for some lunch sometime in there.  Long day, but a damn good day.

My apologies to you and Ed for passing out during chat.  I should have known laying down on the couch was a bad idea after being that tired.

I actually went to check on the kid and he busted me.  So I dealt with a crying baby for about 20 minutes and you guys were gone by the time I got back.  No worries.

Looks like Lee won with 75%, so that's a good way to close out his chapter at The Brick!

Also, he should be settling into something soon, and look forward to hearing his new landing place (staying in the Southeast).
