...and the OP's friend who threw the tasting gets wind of the thread. The OP still doesn't "get it" to say the least.

Who's the f**** that just white knighted me.
I'm getting screen shots sent to me of this thread by my friend who hosted this thing.

I truely do feel bad because he is a pretty serious dude. On the other hand he's being cool about it since he knows I'm retarded.
Sheesh. What a chode.

So your friend invited people over with a collection or rare/expensive beers that people generally don't try on their own, and he is weird?

If he invited a bunch of dudes over to drink cases of Bud Light while watch sweaty guys beat the shit out of each other, would that be weird?

there was one other post in there i read about inviting the FB friend over and how he'd see "all kinds of other ism's like racism, homophobism & sexism..." but said as though they wore it with a badge of honor

beer tastings might be a bit much sometimes and it can come off as pretentious, i get it, but these guys come off as mouth breathers. this celebration of the lowest common denominator is bizarre to me.

i don't understand anime but fuck if i could care that people are really, really, really in to it.

don't hate, celebrate!

I'm not ashamed of this thread, but he's been a friend since middle school. Never like to hurt people close to ya though. I told him to get the OG and he will find everything from feminism, racism, religiousism, all the ism's you could imagine.
I managed to get a lol out of him so hopefully he took this thread 1/2 heartedly.

So utterly dumb it's mindblowing.

Someone posted something like "maybe it's time for some self-reflection". I bet the OP was like "I ain't no sissy, using a mirror like one of those dumb beard guys".

What's weird to me, that site has a dedicated beer thread, there's a ton of craft stuff in it, and it all seems very civil by comparison. I think the cuckoo thread from yesterday brought all the worst elements out of the woodwork. Or there are just a ton of shitty people online in general.

Long live TBS!

Shitty people are everywhere, but they definitely speak more freely online.

True.  I'm one of the few people I know who is nicer online than in person.

Can't really figure out what the forum is about, but there's a beer thread and Chicago thread. :coffee:
Also, idk why I didn't make a separate thread for this... :bag:

Rediscovered this site while looking for a music show, and the beer thread is pretty active (34K posts). Also getting some good Western and Horror movie recs.
