The Beer Spot history, membership, and acronyms
« on: June 24, 2007, 10:42:18 PM »
Welcome to the board!

Basically a bunch of guys posted about beer at Footballguys.com boards in Dec. 2005.  Those bums put together some beer-it-forwards, beer-of-the-month-clubs and posted what they were drinking in a massive thread.  Then they started up a board in Feb.  That one went down in June and we started it up this one here with the help of Organized Chaos!

Threads pertaining to FBG beer activity are linked below:

"What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight?"
Homebrew thread (7/06)
BSFL Season 1 (6/06)

BIF I (3/06)
BIF II (6/06)
BIF III (9/06)
Incomplete List of all BIF Beers sent through Rd. 3
Another list of BIF beers sent (through rds. 1 and 2?)

BOTMC I (12/05)
BOTMC II (12/05)

Acronyms/TBS Idioms:

FBG = Footballguys (website that you can google that covers fantasy football) where we all met for the most part
BTG = Beerthreadguys (our first board which lasted only a little while)
TBS = The Beer Spot (this board!)
TT = Tip Top (user)
NG = Nucular George (user)

Who am I missing off of the BA list?  Anyone active at RB?

BIF III has somewhat updated stuff in terms of what people can get and what they are looking for.
BIF list: Damn, when did I have that much time on my hands?

Beer draft thread: Looks like at least a couple guys actually did...research?...for that draft (HTH, Harpua)

I know there's a link of like half of the colossal thread if it ever goes down....I think 3c's made it.

Do we need to randomly bump the BIF threads as to avoid purging?

Many of the guys here are from Footballguys, so when you see FBG that is what it is referring to.

Haha, was that sarcastic?  I took it out.  I had it up originally because JTG posted a Corona as his first beer the next day which I thought was funny.

I just sent out spam to many of our FBG/BTG bretheren w/ access to changing the timeline.  If you didn't get the email and want in, just PM me your email address.  I'd like to just make it openly editable to the public for now but can't figure out how to do that.

If any of you want to do a write-up on anything related to our history, feel free to do so.  Just post the paragraph or story in here somewhere and I'll eventually find a place for it.
