Anyone ever heads to Grand Rapids MI, here you go:

Brewery's
Founders
Schmohz
The Hideout
New Holland is about 45 Minutes away and Bells is about 1 hour..

Brewery / Restaraunt
Grand Rapids Brewing Co.

Beer Stores
Siciliano's (Best homebrew store in MI IMO)
Martha's Vineyard
Deruze Gormet Market (4 coolers of single beers)
Grapevine

Bars with good higher end selection
Graydons Crossing
Logans Alley
Old Chicago (Chain, but you can get some good beers there)

All in all, its a really small big town, but the craftbrew/homebrew community is strong.

Yeah, I'll make it out there for a little while. I'm friends with most of the people in Oracle (One of the bands playing. The head brewer at Founders is in this band also.) You coming out this way?

Also, forgot to mention in my first post, the B.O.B has a new brewer, he was a major part in making founders what it is today..

I'm spending Thursday before Great Taste in GR.  Has anything changed since 2007?
Quote from: J-Rod
I ended up drinking 9 times my body weight in beer, broke three glasses over my head, 7 over others, ordered up 17 hookers for a little afterparty, held a cabbie hostage while running his cab through the Madison capitol doors, and I grabbed gator's ass.

Spent the weekend in GR.  On the way up hiked at Grand Mere State Park in Stevensville, stopped in Watervliet for Arclight and tacos, and then visited Virtue for cider.  Once we got to GR, we hit Brewery Vivant, Vandermill, and Jolly Pumpkin on Friday.  Did Marie Catrib's, Fulton Street Farmer's Market, Madcap, Speciation, Greyline, The Mitten, City Built, The Sovengard on Saturday.  On Sunday we hit the southern location of Real Food Cafe for breakfast.  Then Saugatuck Dunes and Transient before heading home.

I never buy their beer here, but the saisons on tap at Vivant were excellent as well as the Duck Confit Nachos.  Jolly Pumpkin was essentially the same as the Hyde Park Chicago location, but that's fine with me.  Smashed & Grabbed 3 was great.

Marie Catrib's was excellent per usual. I was super impressed with the Farmer's Market.  Huge permanent structure for protection from the weather.  Tons of variety.  Came away with some great corn, tomatoes, blueberries, peaches/plums, green/yellow beans.

Speciation was awesome.  Greyline and Mitten were solid.  City Built as well.  Sovengard lived up to the hype.  Excellent food and a great selection of beer/cider.

Wished we had more time to do more food and beer, but I'm happy with what we accomplished.

Nah, just unfiltered beer.  Tart saisons with some dry hopping.
