Munich itself is full of beer halls that all have your standard Hells, probably a weiss and a dark weiss. It sounds like many have a few seasonals - a festival beer during oktoberfest, and a heavy bock during Lent. You could spend days in Munich visiting each house (Hacker Pschorr, Hofbrau, Spaten, etc) and enjoy each on their own. In Munich, Hofbrauhaus has been my favorite. Live music, good food, friendly servers, and they take credit (most places take only Euros).
