ISO: Abrasive and maybe other local DIPAs
« on: January 22, 2013, 09:08:21 PM »
Doing a simultaneous blind DIPA competition with my brother and his buddies out East. We want to do the same beers in the same order and compare results. Anywho...

I need 1 can of 12/13/12 Abrasive
or
5 cans of fresher Abrasive

Or just tell me Abrasive that old isn't even worth it and we'll leave it out of the lineup.

Also, If there is anything else you guys feel is worthy to be in the lineup and are willing to trade/sell me some I'm all ears.

Ninja vs. Unicorn?

Here is our current list:
Bells: Hopslam
Avery: Maharaja
Stone: Enjoy By
Kern River: Citra
Russian River: Pliny
Alpine: Pure Hoppiness
Firestone: Double Jack
Alewerks: Bitter Valentine
Deschutes: Hop Henge
3Floyds: Arctic Panzer Wolf
Mongo

Cut off is 8%
Tasting is Feb 9th, so need to ship by Monday the 4th latest. Will trade anything local or paypal.

Appreciate any help on this.

Feel free to comment/critique the lineup as well.

If you're doing this before valentines day, does that mean your bitter valentine is ~1 year old?  I might leave that out, though I think it's a very good DIPA.

I don't know that I'll have time to get this done in your timeframe, but if no one else can help you out let me know.

Nevermind.  BV was just released at the brewery.  I assume you have a hookup set up for this?

The other group is in NoVa. Hoping it hits stores in time.

No luck here.
I'm thinking if that is the only canning of Abrasive it shouldn't be in this contest. DO they do one canning or a few for the season?

They do many cannings.  I'll see if I can stop somewhere, but work is a little crazy right now and it's my daughter's birthday today.

It this point it would be 3 bottles shipped to VA and 2 to me in CA. No need to go out of the way. We'll just axe it from the list. More bummed about no Heady Topper.
