Here it is folks, O'so new offerings. A short time for bottle carbonation and they will be available to everyone. Bottle on left is Wee on the Lam....sour brown aged, 10% abv, Brett Lambicus fermented. Bottle on right is bourbon barrel aged Night Train...a blend of the best barrels in our bunch. Both available at the brewery January 25th. Limited amount available out in the market. Very exciting!!

Marc Buttera shared O'so Brewing Company - Tap House's photo.
FROM O'SO TAP HOUSE PAGE: O.k., so here today's update: The beers will be on sale at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 25th at the Tap House, so don't forget to stop by if you are traveling and don't see a name below near you! The distribution of the beers themselves by our distributors will begin the following week! As much as we'd like to guarantee where they are going, we can't, but here would be my suggestions of places to call or stop by throughout the state: Liquor Port, Market Place, Ridgeway (GB), Three Cellars, Timers, Avenue Wine & Spirits, Party Port, Jennifer Street, Barriques, Steve's, Riley's Star Liquor, Mars Cheese Castle, Rays, Discount, Cellars, Club Liquor, Casanova's, Chicone's, The Side Note, Viking Express, Zinkes, Festival (Mfld.), Kelly's, Trig's (Pt.), JR Liquor, and Bottle Stop. The beer is very limited, so don't wait around most places allotment is not going to last! O'so will have 33 cases of each Wee on the Lam and Bourbon Barrel and not have any limits!

We have a change on the release date of the 750mL of the Wee on the Lam. We checked the carbonation and it WILL NOT be ready to release this Friday. We are going ahead with the release on the Bourbon Night Train this Friday.....that carbonation checked out perfectly. We think the combination of high alcohol and high acid in the Wee is slowing down the referment in the bottle. Please bare with us....the Wee may take a few weeks to carbonate fully. We will post more updates as they come available. Always learning I guess!! Cheers. Marc

33 cases.  man,  it might be gone by saturday.

:goodposting:  gone by saturday morning is what i was told by the bartender

he said "man, guys have been buying cases of it since we put it up for sale last night.. there was barely any left when we openend this morning and that got sold right away."

also, if the kid is to be believed (owners son, i believe) they pulled these beers back from distribution because "they weren't selling". he said they had zero left, period, by the time we got there.

Pull distribution to sell cases to whalezbro hoarders from abroad... makes sense. Seems like a better idea would be to get your beers out to more people around the state, call me crazy. Oh well... i'm sure I can trade a Rare for one.

I traded away one of my 2 bottles as part of a package and the other trader just contacted me tonight, wondering if I knew about this.  He said they had a tasting this weekend and the BB Night Train was a massive butter bomb.

Levi Funk, who posts over on the homebrew board has been consulting with O'so brewing - the Wee on the Lam is a happy accident. Scotch ale finished with Brett to dry it out and funk it up. They've really gone heavy into barrels and weird yeasts with some great results - they have some pLambic going and will be bottling a pGueuze next year.
cheers, scamborn

Pseudo.  Since they're not made in Belgium, they're not the real deal.  Like sparkling wine vs. Champagne.  It's a stupid term, and nobody is going to confuse O'so with Cantillon.

I think those terms predate "american wild ale" as a catch-all, from the 1990's era homebrewing/lambic digest. A little awkward to say the least. Just call it "Lambic-style" or "Wisc-Gueuze"... just rolls off the tongue ;)

Big News From O’so

O’so Brewing in Plover, WI announced via Facebook yesterday that they’ve picked up a new brewmaster. He’s Steve Buszka, former brewmaster at Potosi and former head brewer at Kalamazoo/Bells Brewing. He left Bell’s in 2001 (believe they were still calling it Kalamazoo Brewing at that point). While there, he won GABF medals for Expedition Stout and Two Hearted Ale. The guys is a great brewer. Looking forward to seeing what he does at O’so. Seems like a good fit.

From their facebook page-

So for all of you friends, fans, and customers hearing THINGS ABOUT the O'so brands out there in the territories locally, please know that we made a business decision to switch distributors and that wasn't accepted well, so as you go to your places YOU spend YOUR money at, and they possibly don't find the products, just ask for it again and again, as General Beer from Stevens Point will get the products back there, but we'll need your help in making sure of that by you repeatedly asking for the O'so brands. The beer business is NOT always a fun one, but sometimes a very vindictive one. Have an O'so great day to you all! We appreciate each and everyone of you, each and every day!!! Katina & Marc & our Team

some interesting notes in here:

"Meanwhile, Buttera says his next 750 mL bottle release is a beer named Convenient Distraction. It's a version of Night Train (porter), made with coffee and vanilla beans, and finishes at nearly 10.5% ABV. Look for it in April. Later in the year, Buttera is also planning to release a coconut porter aged in rum barrels, and he'll be bring back Goldilocks' Revenge, an imperial stout aged in brandy barrels. O'so's 2014 summer seasonal will be Picnic Ants Farmhouse Ale, a Belgian saison that rotates with other summer brews and only appears every few years."

Doesnt say anything about hours on Facebook. What I posted was the whole post so I would assume regular hours.
