I saw it at Woodlake Market over the weekend. Didn't notice the price.

'Coffee Stout should be available in Green Bay - can't remember the name of  the liquor store there.  You can go to greatbrewers.com to search for it!
That website will only work for our product for probably another month
though - it is run by one of our distributors that we will be ditching here
soon."

i'll be damned if i can figure out the beer finder. maybe because i'm using IE but it's taking minutes to load each page.

I'm assuming he means Ridgeview?  The Beerfinder didn't pull up anything for me on the coffee stout either

Could this be a new look for Central Waters?

An art director looking for work sent this to our ad agency today. From the copy on his promotional piece, it's unclear if the brewery is heading in this direction. I doubt it, and I hope not. Far too cartoonish for me. Central Waters demands a more sophisticated look to match their reputation.

agreed that it's too cartoonish

that would be a weird transition

Perhaps they are trying to broaden the appeal for markets unfamiliar with Central Waters?

I also think it's a little cartoonish but what scares me most is that it makes me think of other brands of beer which, IMO, are more about marketing than they are about beer.  I'd be happier to see them sticking to what's important....brewing great beer.

On the other hand, if this is a sign of prosperity for CW, I don't begrudge them their success one bit.

Maybe they're trying to appeal to the under-12 market.

UPDATE:

Received this message from the artist:

"This Central Waters piece was something I did on spec. I doubt they'll do anything...they sell every bottle of beer they produce without any marketing efforts. It was, however, a fun exercise for me."

I appreciate the fresh look of that mock-up, too, but I'm not sure it would fit them.  However, ANYTHING other than what they have now would be an improvement.

I wish more places would do this.  My favorite bar back home always opened at 7:00 pm xmas day, and it was packed all night long.

I guess it's nice for people that hate family and Xmas. ;)  I'm busy all Xmas Eve and Xmas Day for the most part so I could care less.  Kinda feel bad for the people that have to work those days although I suppose people may tip more because they feel bad for them.

A lot of people don't celebrate xmas ... and a lot of those who do are stressed out after spending the entire day with their family.  Plus, it was always a great time and place to meet up with friends who were back in town for the holidays.

Checked Haskell's downtown, nothing yet.
Reasonably priced too! 7.99-8.99 or something like that.

Very nice.  Nice to see good beers still available for a nice price point for a sixer.

True.

CW keeps brews priced reasonably.

In addition to the regular lineup, the specialty beers (Bourbon Barrel Stout, Peruvian Morning, Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout, Bourbon Barrel Barleywine) are all $9.50 per four-pack. That's a freaking STEAL for beer of that quality.

I can't believe we have to share Central Waters with you Vikings-Loving Bastards.

And to think you wanted me to bring some Surly to Madison this weekend...

I still owe you.  I'll bring you a four pack of Abrasive if you'd like.

Do you recall showing up at my room with beer last year.  Bender and Coffee Bender are available now.  No Bitter Brewer or Hell yet.

I wish I had known this before I ran into Paul Saturday night. Might have changed where I punched in this morning. :coffee:
