Central Waters
« on: February 21, 2008, 03:47:34 PM »
Be on the lookout for their newly bottled products:
Coffee Stout (first time bottled!)
Bourbon Barrel Kosmyk Charlie
Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout

Here's a response I got from Paul @ CW, to a recent inquiry about availability.

"Hey Steve-

BCS, BBW, and Coffee Stout all got bottled this week. Coffee Stout got bought out already (by distributors), but we'll have some of the other two for sale here. Good news though - We picked up Specialty Beverage to distribute to select accounts in Green Bay / Fox Valley / Milwaukee area and they will be distributing all three of those! Hope all is well!

Paul "

Good news for those of us in the GB/Fox Valley area.

Get on the Horn with Specialty and get your order in.  Be the first in your neighborhood to carry the Coffee Stout.  I was a little disappointed that they didn't keep some at the brewery since I was planning on heading out there.  I have no idea if/when any of the stores in Appleton will get any of these.  It's always a crap shoot with the local stores, none of which have a clue what's going on in the craft beer world....even when it's right in their own backyard.

Here's the answer I was emailed this morning-
"I dont know where it will be in GB, but we are going to turn the salesman loose on it."
I believe the GB salesman is the same I deal with so I'll let you know when I hear.

If you talk to him soon, tell him he can save himself a lot of time and trouble.  No need to mess around with the stores, he can just sell it directly to me.

Coffee Stout is definitely in bombers.  talked to Paul over the weekend.  he said next week or so we should start seeing it.

he also said the Coffee Stout in particular is "awesome" this time.

From the distributor:
"Rideview liquor, on ridge road, all of Fest Foods will have in next week."
Also, Woodlake Market in Kohler and Jake's in Sheboygan will have them today.
Call ahead though. The stipulation for stores getting the Barrel Aged stuff is that they need to buy the three year-round (Porter, Red and Pale) offerings as well. And the Coffee Stout is in VERY limited supply and may be gone already. Also, the Coffee Stout is in Bombers

It MAY be gome already. Be safe and call first. There wasn't much bottled and shipped out but, yes, I was told Madison scooped up a majority of what there was of everything.

I chose the right weekend to come back to Madison for my birthday. Got a few bottles of both of the bourbons and the coffee for me and TT. Can't imagine how much cash I would have had to bring with me if you guys had placed orders with me ahead of time, nor how many times my car would have bottomed out on the four hour drive home.

Central Waters Becomes Wisconsin's First Green Powered Brewery

2009 has already brought about many changes and improvements for Central Waters Brewing Company. The biggest step has been the addition of roughly 1,000 square feet of solar collectors; 24 panels, in all. Solar collectors use energy emitted by the sun, and convert it into a more usable and/or storable form of power. The energy production of our new solar collectors is estimated to reach around 2500 therms per year. A payback from the system will be seen in about seven years, with an estimated savings of $1.4 to $1.5 million over the life of the system.

In addition to the new solar panels, Central Waters Brewing Company uses a radiant floor heating system, and more energy efficient lighting systems, motors in the equipment, and brewhouse. All of the materials used in the newly remodeled tap room are from recycled resources. Also, with the implementation of the new grain silo outside of the brewery, we are able to reduce the amount of packaging materials that come into the facility, therefore the amount of packaging that needs to be disposed of. In addition to the sustainability practices currently in use at the brewery, Central Waters works with local farmers to recycle the grain used in the brewing process. The spent grain is taken by these farmers and used as feed for livestock, and also used as compost.

The addition of the solar collectors, coupled with other sustainability practices, allows Central Waters Brewing Company to drastically reduce the consumption of natural gas, therefore greatly reduce our carbon footprint.

Central Waters Brewing Company…truly "making the world a better place, one beer at a time."

They reduced their C02 emissions enough to offset the C02 they produce?
