It just doesn't make sense to drink in bars anymore
Seriously though, it's getting harder to justify unless there's something draft-only that's way too tempting to pass up.

Saw Bramble Rye at Haymarket yesterday  $41.00 and you have to drink it on site.  I drank lots of drafts and didn't get to $41.00

Bramble or Cherry? Bramble would be over a year old at this point. Their bottle prices have always skewed high imho.

The man knows his hops.  Tripple was a bit of a let down and the Central Waters Broken Window Keller bier was a bit off.  Other than that pretty nice.  Pick up some secret santa swag in the process.

My thoughts exactly.  I love the craft selection at my local store but goddamn do they overcharge on specialty/popular items sometimes.

Kind of surprised it's not more. $15 Dark Lord turns into $50 BA DL.  Figured $30 Baller would turn into something even more expensive

That actually is surprising.  What is the most exepnsive off the shelf beer you've seen? Excluding the giant 3 liter bottles I think $50 might be it.

I still have a few in my fridge from random trips to Netherlands.  I am still a bit underwhelmed with new and aged bottles.

I'm intrigued, and that's actually cheaper than the BA Old Stock.  Same size bottle (375/500)?

I'm a big fan of Urban Chestnut out of St. Louis.

I saw a new beer in 500ML singles today from them.  It is their Sertãozinho Weiss Coffee Wheat.  It was 9.99.  I couldn't pull the trigger on it.  I am still surprised it was that much for a 5% wheat beer.

Hopslam. $17 for a sixer? Pass. Our fridge is still full of hoppy goodness from our Chicago trip.

That'd be a deal for HS around here.

Yeah, I suspect it's $25 around me.

A local is doing their annual HopSlam preorder.  13.88/6er.  I probably won't order anyways.

Beer Futures?   :headscratch:  I thought that was only in the wine business.

50/50 Eclipse... saw the EC 12 for $29.99 (lowest i've seen) but still couldn't do it. :bag:
Came to post this, too.  Not sure which ones, but there were 2 on the shelf for $30.  No way.

The problem is that the beers are great, but the price points are not worth it.

Lately i'm passing up all the Evil Twin stuff until I see some more reviews. They're like $12.99 for 12-16.9oz. bottles.
The Biscotti Break was solid on tap, so I picked up a bottle of that, but otherwise don't want to toss away money on their random stuff.

I saw a bunch of 'em in Chicago recently and $30 was the cheapest price. No thanks.

The actual bourbon Elijah Craig 12 year is thirty dollars for a 750.  Some smartass retailer should sell them as side by sides.

I have passed up all most all hop monsters that have taken a 2 month boat ride, especially at those prices.  So Evil Twin, Mikkellers, and BrewDog hop monsters seem to be DOA.  One of them did a SMaSH beer with different hop varieties, and I couldn't taste any hops in those beers at all.

But I think the funk is only enhanced by the boat ride.  I will put money into big malt or wild critter forward beers that take the boat ride.  Like Stillwater, or the classic funk masters.
